Margate Mushrooms is about as low impact as food production gets. Our mushrooms are grown, harvested and sold within Thanet so are food miles are close to zero compared with mushrooms shipped from Poland, Ireland and the Netherlands which is where most UK supermarket mushrooms come from. Growing on a small, local scale also means we are not reliant on long supply chains that can be disrupted by fuel shortages, export restrictions and global shocks - which makes us a small but real contributor to food security on the Isle of Thanet.

Pitchers’ Preserves use local produce as much as possible, ‘rescuing’ perfectly good produce from supermarkets, that potentially would be wasted. All of our jars are made from recycled glass.
Return one of our jars to get 50 pence of the next purchase.
All our products are vegan and gluten free with no artificial colours or preservatives.

Broadstairs Botanicals is a not-for-profit that turns waste aromatic plants into aromatherapy hydrosols for use around the house.

They use local Thanet plants, steam distilling them to collect the oils and water soluble elements. The process is thousands of years old and produces a pure aromatic product. In addition to the local nature of the raw materials, Broadstairs Botanicals tries hard to source bottles, equipment, lids and labels from Thanet and Kent.

Any profits go to support local charities like Mama-to-Mama, Oasis, Garden Gate and Broadstairs based youth groups.

A little introduction from me, I’m - I organise the Ramsgate ECO Market!

Im a wildlife /nature illustrator, printmaker & designer so naturally being eco-conscious is at the core of my business and life!
I wanted to start Ramsgate ECO Market as a way of bringing together likeminded makers, designers and curators who all sell eco-conscious good.
This means everything that is being produced is kind to both the planet and ethically made too. No plastic, no nasty chemicals, limited air miles, and always encouraging reuse & repurposing.

Meet Jess, the maker behind 🐚
Jess creates recycled silver jewellery, inspired by the Thanet coastline. Using sea glass, and moulds made directly from seashells at the beach, creating jewellery with a strong sense of place.
