Dampp-Chaser install on an Ernst Kaps upright. This should maintain tuning stability and ensure the newly re-pinned action functions flawlessly and consistently.

Dampp-chaser installation on a 1930s Chappell upright on display at the Ramsgate Tunnels Museum. This piano was played in the Tunnels during the war. In a few weeks time, once it has settled, it will be brought up to A440 concert pitch and a few repairs carried out so it can be used for concerts and sing-a-longs.

Installing new Abel hammers and shanks on an 1890s Bechstein upright.

Temporary touchweight adjustment of a Weber baby grand. Client wanted a very heavy touch of 63g downweight to match the concert grand at his college, so I added small clips to the hammer shanks to add the required weight. This method is reversible and adjustable should the client wish to revert to a lighter weight in future.

Hammer re-facing of a 1906 Bechstein Model B grand. The piano has been cleaned and the action is undergoing a thorough service to ensure it performs at it's best for many years to come.

Tilt-n-treat of a c1900 Bechstein upright. This piano had been restrung about 30 years ago on new pins but with the original wrestplank. The pins were extremely loose and barely holding tune. A few drops of CA glue in each wrestpin hole has worked wonders.

Fitting new keytops to a 1930s Allison baby grand that had been "upcycled" by a piano sales company. Having done nothing to the action, strings or wrestplank, this company had vehicle-wrapped the piano in glossy black vinyl and replaced the original ivory keytops with white plastic.
These keytops were badly fitted by the company, a "bodge-job", which caused notes to stick and generally looked shoddy and unattractive.
It takes time and precision to properly fit keytops. This is crucial for the overall appearance and playability of the piano.

Another Dampp-Chaser installation, this time in an Edwardian Monington upright. This should protect it from the nearby kitchen and ensure a stable tuning.

Tilt-n-treat of Edwardian Matz upright prior to installation of a Dampp-Chaser Piano Lifesaver humidity control system.

The Piano Lifesaver is discreetly fitted into the bottom cavity of the piano. Apart from a very small status indicator under the keyboard you wouldn't know it was there.

The system ensures that the piano remains at a constant relative humidity for the best tuning stability and action reliability.

New casters fitted to an old English upright prior to treating its wrestplank with CA glue. Gone now are the days of propping it up on books. After its tilt-n-treat, the piano was successfully pulled up over a semitone to A440.
