Allow yourself to be different.

Allow yourself to wear as many hats as you want — if that’s what makes you happy.

Most of you know me for wire. But I’m also a designer. A jewellery designer with a little dream of making it to London Fashion Week one day. Or maybe seeing one of my pieces in a movie.

That will do too. 😁

My point is… Be FREE.

You’re an artist. See where your creativity takes you.

Am I going to make only chokers like these from now on? No.

I also love wire. I love pearls and gemstones. I love seed beads. I even remake vintage jewellery into something new, giving it another life.

And I’ll probably fall in love with something completely different tomorrow, add that to my list and cherish it too.

But am I going to keep making these?

Absolutely.

Because they express a side of my personality that my other creations don’t. And I think that’s important.

You don’t have to choose one style.
You don’t have to find your one “thing” and stay there forever.
You don’t have to put your creativity into a box just because you’ve become good at something.

You’re allowed to become good at more than one thing, if that’s what you want.

And you’re allowed to be bad at something too — because that’s how we all start when we’re learning something new.

Nothing should stop you from being curious. From being restless — in a good way. From wondering, “What else could I do?”

We didn’t come into this world to stay stagnant. We came to explore and to learn, to grow and to shape ourselves into something new — and, more importantly, to enjoy the process.

Because perhaps all those different sides of you are exactly what make you truly unique. ✨

I hope this reaches those of you who needed to hear it. And I hope it helps those of you who have been wondering the same things, but weren’t quite sure whether it was worth taking that step.

It is OK to step out of the crowd.

It really is.

Quite a few of you have mentioned that getting those curves smooth and even can be tricky, so I hope this little tip helps. 🤍

For me, so much of it comes down to rhythm. Once you find a steady rhythm in your wrapping, it becomes much easier to feel and control the tension of the wire — and that’s what helps those curves sit beautifully.

And perhaps most importantly — relax and enjoy making your jewellery. ✨ Don’t rush it or fight the wire. The more relaxed your hands are, the easier it is to find that rhythm and feel the tension.

When you can feel how the wire responds to your hands, you stop fighting against it and start working together with it. 🌀✨

I genuinely had no idea what I was doing with this one 🧚✨🌀

No plan, no sketch, no idea what it was going to become — I just picked up a little piece of leftover wire and let myself completely free with it.

Sometimes I think these are my favourite things to make — when there’s no pressure to get anywhere in particular and I can simply follow the wire and see where it takes me.

And the fact that something that could easily have ended up in the scrap pile became a tiny wearable treasure makes me love it even more. 🧚✨

The actual pace of wire wrapping… 🌀✨

This is how slow it really is.

Round and round, wrap by wrap, pearl by pearl — gradually shaping the wire into smooth, balanced curves.

No speeding up. No rushing through it. Just the real pace of making — slow, repetitive and wonderfully hypnotic.

And maybe that’s part of what makes handmade so beautiful — all that time, calm and positive energy somehow gets wrapped into it too. 🤍✨

Another sweet throwback 🤗💚

These simple green onyx wire-wrapped hoops were made 2 years ago, during those nights when my baby was finally asleep.

I had no audience, no idea how to film, and barely knew how to use social media. I was completely burnt out from looking after a baby all day — but whenever I had a little time at night, I made things.

Not for the financial benefit — although that would have been lovely too 😅 — but simply because I needed to create. To feel like myself again. Simply to feel alive.

And these have only just sold. For £3. Years later…

Is it a little sad? Yes. Because of course I wish someone had loved them earlier and bought them for more.

But did they make me happy? Also yes.

They brought me the joy of creating. They gave me hope that one day I’d be doing this properly again, even if that day had to come later. They became one of those tiny, much-needed baby steps that kept me going.

The buyer has no idea how much it means to me that they chose them, or how much love went into making them. But I hope somehow these little hoops bring some of that joy into their life too, whenever they need it. 💚

Sometimes being a crafter is simply making because you love it. Believing in yourself when no one else does… yet. And having the patience to wait for someone else to love what you created too — even if it takes years.

Because when you truly love something, you’re already doing something right. You’re where you’re supposed to be. The rest can come later.

I hope this motivates you not to give up. Every little step matters. Every creation makes you a creator.

The full Fairy Choker tutorial is now on YouTube! 🧚✨

This one takes you through the whole process — from shaping the wire on a metal jig to adding gemstones, glass and vintage beads to create this slightly wild, fairy-world choker. 🌿

There was also a little accidental experiment along the way… 😁 I used 1.25 mm wire instead of the 1 mm I normally recommend, so you can actually see why thicker wire is harder to shape and work with.

It fought back a little.

But we did it. 😂
