😔 Bradfield Post Office is really sad to learn that our lovely postie Jason, after 10 years here, is being taken off the Bradfield Southend round. His last day will be 22nd August. 😔

You may have noticed a new face in the Post Office. Introducing Ruth, our newest member of staff. She’s often at the Bradfield market, selling the lovely jewellery that she makes. Ruth has kindly donated some to the shop, that we are selling for Cancer Research.

“Team Bradfield” have just completed the Race for Life raising funds for Cancer Research UK.
Marvellous to see the lovely Linda Barnes there too! 🐓

Amidst the joy of our new postbox topper, on Friday we were told that PO Ltd were slashing the pay that PO’s receive for online postage from 14.5p per parcel to 2.5p which means we’d have to do OVER 500 parcels an hour to “earn” minimum wage.
This is an immense blow to our PO which already relies heavily on the shop side to keep us with a Post Office in the village.
Please use our PO & Shop WHENEVER possible. Thank You.

As branches struggle with major cost rises, the Post Office has announced a string of pay cuts on Royal Mail services.

🤩 This week is National Volunteer Week. Our Village Shop would not be here if it wasn’t for all the people that give their time freely, from stocking the shelves, paying the bills, helping on the till, washing our windows & SO much more.

The first eight school bags have found good homes - 4 in Kinywanga Primary School, Tanzania and 4 in the Sinclair Memorial School in Lahore, Pakistan. Thank you for continuing to buy crafty bits and bobs.
