👋 Welcome to all my new followers! ❤️

I’ve noticed lots of new faces and interactions on my page recently, so I thought it was the perfect time to introduce myself properly to those of you who are new here!

So… hi! 👋 I’m Emma, the person behind Oliver & Daisy Memory Keepsakes. 🧵🪡

I’ve been running my little business for 6 years now, and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to do something I love every day. I make all of your keepsakes by hand, from my sewing room at home, turning special clothing into something you can treasure for years to come. ❤️

I’m based in Earley and, when I’m not sewing, I’m kept busy with family life! I live with my husband, our youngest son, and our two furry family members — Lottie the dog 🐶 and Flo the cat 🐱.

Everything you see on my page is handmade by me. There’s just one of me, one sewing room and one sewing machine… so I do sometimes get booked up! 😂🧵

Working alone means I can add that personal touch to every single keepsake. I’m involved in each stage of the process, from carefully handling your special clothing to creating the finished piece❤️

I always keep an order list open though, so if you have something special tucked away that you’ve been wondering what to do with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m always happy to have a chat. 🥰

If you’d like to reserve a place on my list, I simply ask for a £5 holding deposit, which is deducted from your final price. You’ll find more information about the process in the ‘How It Works’ section on my page.

I try my very best to reply to messages as soon as I can, although sometimes the sewing machine wins and I’m covered in threads! 😂 You can contact me by WhatsApp, Messenger or phone.

🌸 Happy Bank Holiday Weekend!

I honestly can’t believe we’re nearly in September! 😳 Where on earth has this year gone?! It feels like we blinked and suddenly we’re heading into autumn! 🍂

I’ve got another new make to share with you today… 🧵🪡

I was asked to make a Guinea Pig from a little girl’s favourite clothes. 🐹💕 And I’ve been told she’s now called ‘Petal’ — which I think is just the most beautiful name for a very special keepsake! 🌸

I was also given a gorgeous sequinned top and thought it would make a lovely little cushion. ✨ Sometimes those sparkly pieces of clothing are just too pretty not to give them a new lease of life!

I hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. ❤️

I’ll mainly be spending mine building IKEA wardrobes… 🫣🔨😂 So I’m hoping you’ll all be having considerably more fun than me and the hubby!!

🐾🎄 A CLOWDER OF CATS! 🎄🐾

These lovely cats were made as Christmas gifts and, believe it or not, they were my very last order of 2025! 🎁✨ What a lovely way to finish the year. 🥰

Did you know that the collective noun for a group of cats is a clowder? 🐱🐱🐱

I didn’t either! 😂 So, I’m very pleased to introduce you to my clowder of cats! 🐾❤️

This lovely group was made using a mix of two different patterns. The lying-down cat was actually one I designed myself because I just couldn’t find a pattern that I liked enough! ✂️🧵

I was given free rein with how I used the clothing, which I absolutely loved. I had lots of fun choosing which pieces to use and matching the colours and patterns for each individual cat. 🌈🐱

It’s amazing how different they can look depending on which parts of the original clothing you use, and I think each one has its own little personality. 🥰

I think these make such lovely and thoughtful Christmas presents 🎄🎁 — something completely personal and handmade, made from clothing that already holds special memories.

I really hope the recipients enjoyed opening them and love their new little keepsake cats as much as I enjoyed making them. ❤️🐾

And what a way to finish my 2025 orders… with a whole clowder! 🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱✨

⚽️THE NEW FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!⚽️

With the new football season just around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to share some of my football shirt keepsakes! 🏟️⚽️

This is such a popular request, and I can completely understand why. For many people, a football shirt isn’t just a piece of clothing — it can hold so many memories, from supporting a favourite team to remembering a special player, season or moment. ❤️

When I’m making these keepsakes, I always try to use as much of the original shirt as possible. That includes the club badges, names, numbers, sponsor logos, printing and all those little details that make the shirt unique. 🪡✂️

I spend quite a bit of time planning where each piece will go before I start sewing, so that the important details can be showcased beautifully within the finished keepsake. It’s always lovely seeing how much of the original shirt I can incorporate! 🥰

These are just a few of the football keepsakes I’ve made over the last couple of years, and I thought it would be lovely to bring them all together in one post. ⚽️📸

There are so many different designs, colours and teams, and every shirt brings its own story. That’s one of my favourite things about making memory keepsakes — no two are ever quite the same. ❤️

❤️⚽️ Happy Saturday! ⚽️❤️

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend! ☀️😊

Every now and then I’m asked to make clothing to fit a pre-bought bear, and that’s exactly what I was asked to do with this gorgeous little chap! 🐻🥰

I was given a shirt, hat and scarf, which I carefully resized to fit the bear my customer had already bought. ✂️🧵 It was lovely being able to give his outfit a completely personal touch and make everything fit him just right. ❤️

I was also given a pair of glasses 👓. I can sometimes use the original glasses that come with the clothing or item, but if they’re too large, there are lots of bear and doll-sized options available online which work brilliantly! 🐻👓

And then came the finishing touch… ✨

I was asked to add some embroidery to his paw. I embroidered the wording onto a small piece of felt and then hand-sewed it carefully onto the paw. 🪡❤️

And there we have it…

A very special Liverpool bear! ❤️⚽️🐻

I absolutely love how he turned out! 😍 It’s those little personal details that really make each keepsake unique.

🧵🪡 A VERY SPECIAL 18TH BIRTHDAY GIFT 🎂🎁

I was absolutely delighted to be asked to make this beautiful cushion from a very special baby blanket. 🥰💕

The blanket had been kept for many years and was turned into a completely unique and personal 18th birthday present — something to treasure and keep forever. 🎀✨

I particularly loved being able to incorporate the frilled edging from the original blanket. Rather than losing this special detail, I carefully replicated it around the edge of the cushion so that a little piece of the original blanket could still be seen and enjoyed. 🩷

I think there’s something so lovely about taking a much-loved baby item and giving it a new lease of life, especially for such an important milestone birthday. 🎂💕

It’s not just a cushion… it’s a little piece of childhood, transformed into something that can be treasured for many more years to come. 🥹❤️

Such a lovely and unique idea for a very special 18th birthday gift. 🎁✨

Hello 👋😊

I’m sharing these lovely keepsakes, made from a very much-loved Grandad’s favourite T-shirts. ❤️

You may remember me saying that sometimes the clothing I receive is clearly a favourite and has been worn time and time again! That was definitely the case with these T-shirts, and my customer really wanted them used for these special keepsakes as they perfectly captured her husband’s personality. 🥰

Unfortunately, the fabric was very thin in places. I carefully managed to make both keepsakes using the usable fabric, but I did explain that they were going to be particularly delicate and couldn’t be handled roughly.

Thankfully, these two were going to sit proudly on the girls’ shelves as a daily reminder of their Grandad. 💙

Just a little reminder that my keepsakes are not toys and, because they are made from much-loved clothing that can sometimes already be worn or fragile, they can rip or tear if handled roughly.

The best way to preserve them is to keep them out of direct sunlight, use a lint roller to gently keep them dust-free and, most importantly… admire them from afar! 😂❤️

I know several customers have bought clear Perspex boxes to display their keepsakes in, which is such a lovely idea and helps keep them protected while still being able to see and enjoy them.

I absolutely love this pair! 🥰 I had so much fun planning where to place all the different prints and sections of the T-shirts so that as much of the original clothing as possible could be included.

So many memories, all stitched together. 🧵🪡❤️

Good morning 🩷💙

Following on from my post yesterday, I thought I’d share some of the baby clothes quilts I’ve made.

Along with the clothes, I was also given little hats and booties, which I carefully hand-sewed into the quilt squares. Embroidery was also added, including names and dates of birth, making each one even more personal and special.

Some of the designs on the baby clothes were too large to fit neatly within one square, so I had to carefully adjust the layout to make sure those special details could still be included.

There’s something so lovely about taking those tiny, precious baby clothes and turning them into something that can be treasured for years to come. 🥰

Mum and Dad now have something very special to keep for their boys — a little piece of their baby days that they can one day have for themselves when they’re old enough to truly appreciate what it means. 💙🩷

Made with love, care and so many memories stitched into every square. 🧵🪡❤️

Creating lasting memories one stitch at a time 🪡🧵

🪡Memory Quilts & Blankets 🧵

I’m quite often asked if I make memory blankets, and the answer is yes, I do! ❤️

However, I do limit the size of the blankets I take on. I don’t have the specialist equipment needed to make very large quilts, and I’m a firm believer in only making something if I know I can achieve a finish I’m 100% happy with. 🥰

This particular blanket was made last year (just look at that lovely green grass! ☺️🌿) and I thought I’d share a few photos showing the process.

✨ So, how is it made?

Each individual square has an interfaced backing. This is a stabiliser which is ironed onto the wrong side of the fabric. It helps to strengthen and support the material, particularly as many of the fabrics I work with have already been well loved and well worn. ❤️

Once the squares are prepared, I have to decide which order they should go in. I try not to place two of the same fabrics next to each other, which can turn into quite the little puzzle! 🧩😂

Then it’s time to start sewing all those squares together. 🪡

Once the main quilt is assembled, I add wadding. I generally use a medium-depth wadding, as these quilts are designed as decorative memory pieces rather than everyday blankets.

The clothing and fabrics I’m working with often have years of memories attached to them and can already be quite delicate. Some pieces may be thin or worn, so they can be more prone to ripping if they’re handled roughly. My aim is always to preserve those precious fabrics and memories as carefully as possible. 🥹❤️

Finally, I add a fleece backing and finish the edges with bias binding tape, giving the blanket a lovely, neat and crisp edge. This is all done by hand ✨

There’s quite a lot of work involved in making these, but I absolutely love seeing all those special pieces of clothing come together to create something meaningful that can be treasured. 🥰🧵
