Rigger required for a marquee company based near Reading.

Marquee rigging experience, though desirable, is not essential as full marquee rigging training will be given. Manual handling experience and ambition to develop are essential.

The successful applicant will help lead teams of marquee crew with responsibility for the correct construction of different marquees. A more detailed description of the job is shown below:

· To ensure the efficient construction of marquees, ensuring that contracts are delivered on time and to the client’s specification, whilst adhering to strict Health and Safety protocols.

· To maintain a strong working knowledge of the company’s products and services and offer technical support and information to team members.

· The successful candidate will represent the company in a professional and proactive manner in all dealings and must lead by example, encouraging and motivating their team.

Job responsibilities

· Oversee crew work on a daily basis, and support the operations foreman to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely fashion.

· Review all project activities, work equipment and sites every day to make sure everything is performed to company standards as well as the latest industry regulations and standards.

· To work alongside the foreman to complete aspects of client/site liaison, ensuring that expectations are met, records maintained, and correct sign offs are undertaken.

· Locate, calculate and designate job site locations as well as equipment and job site structure locations as needed.

· Work with other necessary personnel and supervisors to ensure all site and crew activities are in sync.

· Delegate jobs to crew members as determined by their capabilities and the general requirements of specific work projects and site parameters.

· Meet with other managers/supervisors and necessary personnel as required in order to fully resolve conflicts, complications and other issues according to company and client standards/requirements.

· Train new staff members whenever they join the team and provide workers with continuing education according to the latest industry requirements in order that all work meets the most current specifications.

Job skills and qualifications

Required:

· Experience in a supervisory position;

· Able to give direction and make decisions related to finances, the company’s reputation and crew members;

· Effective time management;

· Full UK driving license.

Preferred:

· Knowledge and experience in the marquee industry;

· Construction or project management degree;

· First Aid training;

Salary: £19,000.00 to £22,000.00 /year
