There's something very unique about this jacket. I've never seen one like it before. That label - GANGSTERS by Valstar. Bold red contrasts with dark tan thick drill cotton fabric. So wearable but also so of it's time. I love that it has a slight swing shape to it where the hem kicks out just a little.

The history bit: GANGSTARS was a youth orientated line of clothing produced by Valstar in the late 1960s and made in England unlike core Italian made Valstar pieces.

I'm looking forward to returning to the beautiful greenhouse at Potager Garden on Saturday 5th September for another vintage market. My rails will be stocked up with vintage shirts, jumpers, jackets and more. Think natural fibres and wardrobe staples to take you through to autumn.

This David Silverman bibbed pinafore dress in linen has stolen my heart. Deceptively simple until you notice that double tiered frill at the hem. It's all in the details. That's what you get with vintage. That little extra.

'Fashion changes, but style endures' (Coco Chanel). This 1920s silk chiffon plissé afternoon dress is proof of that. Hand stitched, it has double layered straps to the chemise top and a very pretty floral border print to the skirt. Fully lined so no need for a slip underneath. Simple, stunning, sublime.
