Just the loveliest of fabrics to use for handsewn lampshades. Linen breathes, with a softness and texture to it that offers a homely, country, quality feel.

I’ve been sewing with this quality ochre gingham linen for years. You can order a french drum or a ruffle drum from my website in this beautiful fabric.

And I love to add extra details on one-off lampshades like this natural fringed 8” cutie available now from a selection of my lampshades at the wonderful .lifestyleshop in Cranleigh. Or perhaps select a bespoke cotton lining of your choice.

Last month I was so happy to see my Candy stripe petticoat lampshades ♥️, and an Alice blue stripe ruffle too 🩵, feature in the design concept by .partners for in Madrid. The newly opened store, (complete on opening day with a candy 🍭 shop), looks just incredible and I need to visit asap! When I do, this stripes lover will simply not be leaving without a pair of their bold and beautiful trousers ♥️. Just wow.

Sweet as candy carousel, handsewn for my client in this classic ticking 2 from in Peony. This shade was commissioned to pop some stripy colour into a guest bedroom. With a separate ruffle gathered at the base edge, it has been left un-lined to let the stripes really zing from beneath. This cotton offers the perfect weight to give structure to the ruffle whilst allowing plenty of light 💡to shine through. Love it ♥️.
