Let’s talk about Bupleurum 🌿

Bupleurum is a wonderful filler flower and a beautiful choice for country garden and cottage garden-style designs.

With its fresh green colouring, delicate branching stems and soft natural shape, Bupleurum brings lightness, movement and a relaxed garden feel to floral arrangements. It’s perfect for softening bouquets, adding texture to table centres and bringing a fresh pop of green to wedding and event flowers.

Its bright green tone works beautifully with pastel blooms, whites, creams, soft yellows and seasonal flowers, helping to tie designs together without overpowering the main flowers.

Bupleurum is typically available from May to October, making it a lovely seasonal choice for spring, summer and early autumn floral work. However, it is not usually available in January, July or December.

Care tips: trim the stems at an angle with a clean sharp knife or scissors, remove any foliage that would sit below the waterline, and place the stems straight into clean, fresh water. Keep them somewhere cool and refresh the water regularly to help achieve the best vase life.

Because Bupleurum has a hollow stem, it may not last as well in floral foam. For best results, we recommend keeping it in a clean vase or container of water where it can drink freely.
