Crystal Encounters

Crystal Encounters Ethically sourced Crystals & Minerals. Gemstone Jewellery, Incense, Essential Oils, Oracle Cards The shop is open Tuesday - Saturday 10.00am - 4.00pm.

With its ever expanding selection of ethically sourced crystals and minerals sought from all over the world, Crystal Encounters is now in its 6th year of trading at Rendlesham Mews, Rendlesham, Nr Woodbridge, Suffolk. Hi, I am Alison, owner of Crystal Encounters and Advanced Crystal Energy Practitioner. I had already been operating online and attending local fairs for some years but realised in 20

15 that the level of interest in Crystal Energy justified me establishing a permanent home for Crystal Encounters. Over the years I have established a very good working relationship with my suppliers; visiting them regularly so that I can personally select the majority of crystals/minerals that are stocked in the shop and also listed in my online store. Over the years I have made many changes to my suppliers so that I can now ensure that I can offer good quality, ethically sourced crystals and minerals to my customers. My suppliers suppliers visit the mine operators on site to ensure that they are happy that products are ethically and responsibly sourced. Ethically sourced crystals and minerals is a huge subject which does not only cover the means in which crystals are extracted but also covers areas such as health and safety for workers. It also ensures that no child labour is used and that workers receive a fair wage. Millions of tons of minerals are extracted from the ground annually for industry etc., in many cases the extraction of crystals is a by-product of these industries. There also needs to be an awareness that in some countries if it were not for mineral extraction there would be no other source of income for locals, so by employing local people into the crystal/mineral industry it allows local people to afford housing, food, health care services and education. Upon entering Crystal Encounters, one is immediately soothed by the subtle scent of incense and oil, and a calmness descend that leads even the somewhat sceptical to consider that the vast array of crystals on display must be affecting one's mood for the better. Crystal Encounters is located in Rendlesham near Woodbridge on the A1152 between Rendlesham & Eyke villages. The shop stocks a range of natural and polished crystals including rare and specialised pieces sourced from all over the world; With a price point to suit all pockets. As well as stocking crystals, minerals and fossils suitable for children we also stock incense, sage, church resins, essential oils, bath salts, Himalayan Salt products, silver gemstone jewellery as well as a cheaper range of jewellery, oracle cards, oil burners and diffusers, essential oil candles and more. We have plenty of free parking available on site. Cash and card payments are accepted.

๐ŸŒŸ NEW WORD ALERT ๐ŸŒŸ

I appear to have accidentally discovered a new word! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Whateverescence (noun)

The quality possessed by certain crystals whereby they do that flashy thing when you turn them in the light, but you can't quite remember the proper scientific term.

Example: "This Labradorite displays excellent whateverescence."

I am reasonably sure this isn't a real word...

I took this beautiful Clear Quartz polished point for a wander yesterday evening.

I find that taking a crystal out into nature allows me to experience it in a completely different way, away from shelves, displays and labels.

What I love about this piece is that she carries the story of her journey with her. Part of the natural host rock on which she once grew remains etched along one side, a reminder of her origins and how she formed deep within the Earth.

Coupled with the many internal features that create pockets of rainbow light when the crystal is turned, she is a fascinating and unique piece of Mother Earth.

If she calls to you, you can find her in my Etsy shop. X

Have you heard of Nzuri Moyo?

With its beautiful shades of green and soft touches of pink, Nzuri Moyo always reminds me of fresh grass, mossy woodland floors and the colours of nature in spring.

The name "Nzuri Moyo" comes from Swahili and is often translated as "beautiful heart". Rather than being a single mineral, it is a blend of different minerals (green epidote, pink feldspar and quartz) that come together to create its unique patterns and colours.

I think it's one of those stones that encourages you to slow down and really look at it. The more closely you look, the more details you notice.

Had you heard of Nzuri Moyo ?

After much reflection, I have made the difficult decision to close the Crystal Encounters shop towards the end of July.

This has not been a decision made lightly. Crystal Encounters has been a huge part of my life for over 11 years, and I am incredibly grateful for the support, kindness and friendship that so many of you have shown during that time.

For many years, Crystal Encounters was much more than a shop. The crystal therapy, workshops and connections with people brought a deep sense of purpose and meaning that I truly cherished.

Over recent months, changes to the Rendlesham Mews site have made it increasingly difficult to offer the calm and peaceful environment needed for me to continue offering crystal therapy sessions. As a result, the therapy side of the business gradually became impossible to continue in the way I felt it should be offered. This led me to reflect on what I wanted the future of Crystal Encounters to look like and what would feel right for the next chapter.

While the shop itself will be closing, Crystal Encounters is not disappearing. I will continue online through Etsy, and I look forward to seeing where the journey leads next.

To everyone who has visited the shop, attended a workshop, booked a treatment, made a purchase, recommended me to a friend, or simply stopped by for a chat โ€” thank you. Your support has meant more than I can ever properly express.

The shop will close on Saturday 25th July, so there is still plenty of time to visit before we close this chapter together.

I would also love for you to continue following Crystal Encounters on social media.

While this chapter is coming to a close, I will still be sharing crystals, nature, new discoveries and whatever adventures the future may bring.

The shop may be closing, but this is not goodbye. It is simply a change in direction, and I hope you'll continue the journey with me and walk beside me as the next chapter unfolds.

With love and gratitude,

Ali xx

One of the things I've been working on this week is updating and improving the listings in my Etsy shop.

It's amazing how much more you notice when you slow down and really look at a crystal - I mean really look.๐Ÿ‘€ Colours that flow into each other, tiny inclusions, internal patterns and the little details that make every stone unique.

Today's desk has included everything from Chrysocolla and Chrysoprase to Actinolite (Witches Fingers) and Red Jasper โ€“ all very different, but each with its own character.

Sometimes the best part of the job is simply taking the time to really appreciate the stones properly.

A new crystal delivery arrived this morning, so there is just one thing for it.....

I'm going in, I might be sometime! ๐Ÿคฃ

Time to see what treasures are hiding in the box! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have you heard of Iolite?

Some crystals are instantly recognisable, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Labradorite etc.,

Others quietly sit on the shelf patiently waiting to be discovered.

Iolite appears to be one of those stones - with shades ranging from deep inky blue to soft violet-blue it has a subtle beauty that reveals itself slowly.

Look closely and you will find natural colour variations and patterns winding through the stone, occasionally if you are lucky a copper coloured, glittery flash may make its presence known, making each piece totally unique.

Have you come across Iolite before?

In a change from tonight's scheduled post... I bring you a hare.

While wandering through the orchard this evening, we spotted this beautiful hare sitting quietly amongst the grass. It watched us for a while and then, rather unexpectedly, ran directly towards us before changing course and disappearing on its way.

It was only a brief encounter, but it completely lifted my spirits.

Sometimes nature has a wonderful way of interrupting our plans and reminding us to slow down and notice what's around us.

Have you had any unexpected wildlife encounters recently?

Surrounded by the soft green backdrop of nature, this beautiful Rhodochrosite obelisk felt perfectly at home outdoors today.

Rhodochrosite is traditionally associated with compassion, emotional warmth, and gentle self-kindness.

A quiet reminder that we don't always have to be strong, productive, or busy.

Sometimes, we can give ourselves permission to simply be. ๐Ÿฉท

This piece is currently available in my Etsy store along with many other unique crystal specimens from Crystal Encounters.
