Mooching around the garden this morning with Seapug and SeaStar, looking at the produce and watering the undercover spaces....and we are starting to get things to eat! I didn't plant as much as usual this year, with the prospect of moving....and some things went in quite late....but still, we have some lovely things to enjoy nonetheless! Tomatoes, cucumbers, raspberries and herbs are ready to start enjoying now. I have various beans and peas, aubergines, peppers and chills that will hopefully be ready later this month too. I hope the apples make a comeback because a lot of them fell during the extensive period of dryness...but we've had some rain so 🤞
I also harvested my various currants a few weeks ago and made my first batch of jelly jam....not my best ever, but we ran out of cooking gas halfway through so I had to simmer twice which meant less clear jam 🤷♀️🤣
But....I usually make a crab apple and rosehip one later in the summer and that is a wonderful pink colour, so I'll make a better job of that one!
I hope if you love growing food like we do, that you are having some delicious produce to enjoy right now 😋🙏
