Today I had play with my sweeties box of kitch, unusual, opaque milk seaglass! 🙃

Milk glass is an opaque translucent milk white or coloured glass that can be blown or pressed into a wide variety of shapes. Victorians loved milk glass for tableware, vases and also used milk glass for tiling. Milk glass was first produced in Venice in the 16th century and then latterly in Europe including the famous bottleworks in Seaham near Newcastle where I collect once a year or so.
Milk glass was produced in a wide variety of colours but both notably, green and yellow however, I have been lucky enough to find a few pieces of blue, pastel pink and purple and white.....and even a few pieces on Anglesey!

Birthdays are for....breakfast in bed, slow paced days, gardening, BBQs, family time....and a lamb from a sheep we didn't know was pregnant! 🤣

Flash Pre-Summer Sale

We are having a really good organise and stock-take of our bullion and findings, and trying to get ourselves organised for if we do sell and move later this year. So we are having a stock clearance, and I have hopefully set the website up so that you don't need to enter a code 🤞

I really hope that I have managed to set up this automated discount properly!! I think it's a faff having to enter codes at the checkout, and so I have opted to set up an automated 15% off any seaglass jewellery, when you spend £40 or more.

New The Soap Mine soap order sniffed and unpacked! It's a delight 😀
We are open today 11:00-15:00. I know we're not open that much anymore, and it's a bit confusing....but it's very tricky for us balancing everything with the property going on the market next week. We are discombobulated ourselves 🙃
We are trying to open up a few hours each Saturday. We will keep our we site and Google business profile updated 🙏

We are opening up our store on Sat 30 May 11:00-16:00! 😀
We will be running Seaglass Snowflakes in May!! workshops all day (must book in advance- spaces available on the 14:00-16:00 session) and so we thought we would open the doors to the main shop also, for anyone who would like a mooch or a chat about commissions.
Road signs will be out and we look forward to seeing you 🙏

Yesterday we did a thing! After I had delivered a drilling workshop at Seapig in the morning....the Seapig crew then went and spent the afternoon as a family, attending our own private workshops with the wonderful Faye Trevelyan Fused Glass 😀😀
We had such a great time, learnt some new skills, and really can't wait to see what our creations look like when they come out of the kiln (I was going to say oven...but that's incorrect 🤣).
Workshops are fun, hey!? 🤪

Look at this beautiful and very unusual seaglass marble bangle 💙😍
This commission was completed last week but we were keeping pics under wraps until it had been gifted!
We don't find many marbles on our beach scrabble....not in proportion to other glass...but I've had a bit of a run of finding them this year, and this blue flash one was found about a month ago on Anglesey, and now it has made a very special birthday gift!
Some pics of other previous marble bangles and pendants. That side bezelling technique is reasonably tricky....and it certainly illicits a few choice words from Mr Seapig's bench 🤪😬...but it looks amazing....so that's the main thing! 🤣
If any of you beach wanderers have your own seamarbles you would like us to work with, then just get in touch to discuss a commission (the purple swirl and red ones in these pics were actually the clients' own glass...and no I wasn't envious at all that they'd found them and not me!🙃).
I do have about 7 or 8 marbles here that we can also create something with - different designs and sizes, so just get in touch if its something you are interested in 🙏

Super event day yesterday; we're not open much at the moment...but it's great when we are!
Some of the new bangles we launched for the shop yesterday sold in person...but this lovely, deep cornflower blue one is still available.💙💙💙💙💙💙
