🐴Do we check existing saddles?
Yes! Whether you ride in a Western, English, treeless, or any other type of saddle, we’re happy to assess the saddles you already own and give you an honest opinion on whether they fit your horse.
🐴 How can you be unbiased when you sell your own saddles? Aren’t you trying to make a sale?
First of all our only priority is the horse’s comfort and wellbeing.
Secondly, we charge a consultation fee, which ensures we get paid for our time.
We stock our chosen range because it gives us access to a wide variety of styles, the largest option of tree shapes - currently over 700 different shapes with options of 100% custom trees too, which allows us to find the best solution for each individual horse.
That doesn’t mean we’re looking to replace every saddle we see. We’ve assessed plenty of saddles that fit well. Sometimes all that’s needed is a little adjustment with carefully selected padding, rather than a new saddle.
We’ve also walked away from sales when we felt we couldn’t provide the right solution. Whether that’s because a customer’s budget would mean us compromising with an “it’ll do” or a saddle that doesn’t fit, or because a horse is showing obvious signs of pain and needs veterinary/physio investigation before being fitted, we won’t sell a saddle that goes against our ethics.
Our reputation is built on doing what’s right for the horse, even when that means not making a sale.
Below are three recent examples—a Crates saddle, a Stonedeek saddle and an Equiflex (purchased elsewhere). All fitted the horses well, and all they needed was some clever padding. We left knowing the horses were comfortable, without selling a new saddle—and that’s exactly how it should be.
