🎶 It’s fantastic to see that local band LickSquid will once again be performing in Ripley this afternoon!

If you’re heading up to Crossley Park to see them perform then why not also visit some of shops or cafes that are OPEN on Sunday? 🎶

We know it was disappointing to many people that we had to postpone LickSquid's performance on Sunday 30th August due to severe rain and storms. 🌧

Not to be beaten however we have worked to secure a BRAND NEW date and we are delighted to announce that LickSquid will be performing 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐘 (𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫) 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤. 👏

🤘These guys need no introduction, but if you're not familiar then you NEED to come along this Sunday! Think pop punk covers, classic party tunes, sing along anthems & much more. 🎸

First up it was great to see Mimi's Soul Food and Lounge Bar back again serving up some delicious home cooked food 🍗

We spotted some gorgeous plants at Amazon Aquatics 🌺

Some traditional deserts including spotted dick and sponge puddings at Malc’s Confectionary🥮

Plenty of children’s socks ready for back to school at Stephanie’s Clothing 🧦

Juicy fresh strawberries at Smarts fresh fruit and vegetables 🍓

🎉 Smartmove Homes 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞! 🎉

We have been over to Smartmove Homes this morning to join in the fun and raise some money for their chosen charity which is Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS and Charity 🧸

They have some fantastic prizes to be won on their raffle, plenty of delicious cakes and treats to buy, games to play and more! 🎟️🍰🎯🥤

If you’re in Ripley today, we highly encourage you to pop in and visit them and help them raise some money for a charity very close to their heart.

We have indulged in a few cakes for breakfast 🧁!

Older Persons Day is a community event designed to bring together local services, support organisations, charities and businesses in one welcoming space for older people, their families, carers and local residents across Amber Valley. 🤝💜

Many older people can find it difficult to know where to turn for help or may not feel confident reaching out for support. This event gives attendees the opportunity to ask questions, find out what services are available locally and connect with organisations that may be able to help them or someone they care about. 💬🌟

The event will bring together organisations that can provide information and guidance around areas such as:

❤️ Health and wellbeing
🏠 Care and support at home
💷 Financial and legal advice
🎨 Community groups and social activities
🛡️ Safety, independence and living well
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Information and guidance for families and carers

Attendees will be able to speak directly with local organisations, ask questions, pick up useful information and find out what support is available across Amber Valley. 📚💬

Older Persons Day is not just about information. It is also an opportunity to bring people together, reduce isolation and encourage community connection. 🤗💞

☕ Refreshments, hot and cold drinks and cakes will be available to purchase throughout the day, giving attendees the chance to sit down, relax and enjoy a friendly community atmosphere. 🍰

🍎𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐭 Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR 🍎

It's the last week of the summer holidays for Derbyshire students, who will shortly be returning to school next week. We know that sometimes in life things throw up challenges, and the cost of school uniform for some parents can be a worry.

We are delighted to see that the Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR store on Church Street have now set up a school uniform swap rail.

This uniform is completely FREE and is a community led initiative to help those in need. There is no judgement, or expectations - just a safe space for people to come and collect some uniform should they need it. ❤️

They are also accepting donations to the rail, for those who may have some spare uniform that can be gifted. 🎒🎓

What a fantastic idea this is! We'd like to thank the team at the Air Ambulance Shop for thinking about our community.

We are sorry to announce that this Sundays “Music in Crossley Park” performance with LickSquid has been postponed.

Due to the current ground condition in Crossley Park, and the forecasted continuing rain and thunderstorms this weekend, we have taken the decision in the interest of comfort and safety to postpone this weeks performance.

➡️ Ripley Town Council are working to secure a new date for LickSquid to perform and we will update social media in due course.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
