We make so many hand painted frames, one of our favourite iterations is creating a unique distressed or aged finish.
To create these we use multiple paint colours, multiple washes and multiple waxes. It goes through lots of stages and processes and it only comes together in the final moments when we apply the top wash.

What an opportunity!
This amazing customer had the vision on this project. All we had to do was translate that into reality!
Creating the frame was one thing, starting with a matching pink base tone we then added imitation gold leaf and we were able to add layer upon layer to this incredible frame.
The outcome is a really exciting mix of regency ornate frames mixed with a bold and playful palette and finish.

This is a lovely example of how dramatically a wood stain can change a frame.
Instead of using an expensive timber like walnut or even wenge, we’ve simply stained and waxed one of our more affordable timbers to give a similar feel.
For this project it has worked wonderfully!

Often, keeping things simple is the right thing to do in framing. Unfortunately I also think people fall back onto blacks and whites.
Adding a little tone of colour from your artwork helps drive the piece forward and makes much more of a statement on your wall.

Are two tone float frames one the best products that we create?
It’s definitely up there in my opinion.
I absolutely love the contrasting shades but also the fact that it’s a subtle way of highlighting tones from the artwork.
