🌱ECO FRIENDLY PERIOD PRODUCTS - 20% OFF TODAY🌱
Today, 28th May, is Menstrual Hygiene Day, a global movement aiming for a Period Friendly World, and campaigning to end period poverty.

At The GreenHouse, we’re keen to source the most eco-friendly option that also works well - as with all our products. And consistently Menstrual Cups are identified as the gold standard, both in terms of comfort and convenience, as well as eco-friendliness.

🌱Menstrual cups use medical grade silicone to produce a soft, flexible cup, can be left in place for up to 12 hours, and just require hot water cleaning after use. Planet-wise, they have the lowest carbon footprint of all period products.

🌱If cups aren’t for you, or you want something for lighter days, reusable pads are the next best option. Our pads are handmade by Jo at Holla Home Crafts neat Ripon, and have been thoroughly researched - they are super soft, absorbent and contain an antibacterial silver layer. Simply b**g them in a cool machine wash after use.

Not only is Blue Monday a delicious medium roast with rich chocolatey notes, it’s produced using an infrared roasting process, which emits 90% lower emissions than traditional flame roasting and produces an even consistent roast - because no one wants a burnt bean.

🌱Naturally, their 100% Arabica beans are ethically sourced, and they’re even delivered in reusable buckets from their Yorkshire roastery 💚

🌱Lonton’s also make a superior decaf coffee, using a gentle, chemical-free sparkling water process, so it doesn’t have funny metallic taste you get in other decaf coffee.

The GreenHouse will be open every day of half term, including Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Bring friends, family, visitors and dogs to enjoy the calm of our eco store on North Street 🌱

Half term opening hours:
🌱Sunday 24th and Bank Holiday Monday 25th May, open from 11am til 3pm
🌱Tuesday to Saturday, open as usual from 9.30am til 4.30pm

🏃‍♀️Yes it’s another shopkeeping marathon, although I’m hoping to get some family help on Friday afternoon…

We have so much to thank bees for: pollinating our crops, making honey and of course all the wonderful eco friendly things you can do with beeswax 🌱

🐝 And what better way to introduce you to our NEW cut-to-size beeswax wrap rolls from Yorkshire-based (swipe to see)

🐝 Beeswax wraps are a great eco swap for cling film. You can create a seal with the warmth of your hands, wash & reuse many, many times, and it looks much nicer than plastic ☺️ My favourite use is wrapping up cheese as the breathable cotton and sealed wax help cheese last really well in the fridge 🧀

🥖Did you know, you can order any bread or pastry that Baltzersen’s make and pick it up fresh from our store in Ripon? We get deliveries every Friday and Saturday morning, so get your orders in asap🌱

🥖As Baltzersen’s make their sourdough to order to minimise waste, we need to give them plenty of notice - so let me know what you’d like by 4pm on Tuesday for Friday delivery, or 4pm on Wednesday for Saturday.

🥐Although we do get extra pastries for walk ins, we don’t carry extra bread - only pre-orders - so you know your bread is fresh out of the oven that morning. We don’t like waste either, but it never seems to be a problem with the pastries 😂
