Beginner Crochet Workshop in Ripon!
Date: 19 September
Time: 10am–1pm
Where: Ripon (off Palace Road, parking available)
Whether you’ve never picked up a crochet hook, struggled to learn from online videos, or simply fancy trying something new, this is a lovely place to start.
With a maximum of just 7 people, there will be plenty of individual guidance, while still enjoying the encouragement of learning alongside other beginners.
What you’ll learn:
🧶 How to get started with crochet
🧶 Essential stitches including chain, double crochet and treble crochet
🧶 Tips and tricks to build your confidence and avoid common beginner mistakes
🧶 How to continue practising and start your first project at home
You’ll also receive a beginner’s starter pack containing everything you need to keep practising:
• 1 ball of chunky wool + 6mm hook
• 1 ball of DK wool + 4mm hook
• Scissors
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
Plus, we’ll have a cosy, friendly space to learn in, with tea, coffee, cake and biscuits because learning is always better with cake! 🍰
As a crochet designer, technical editor and tutor, I love sharing what I’ve learned through my work in the crochet industry. My designs have appeared in Crochet Now, Inside Crochet and Knotions, and I was delighted to design the Crochet Society 2025 AdventCAL.
And remember, there are no silly questions and everyone starts somewhere. I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.
If you’ve been thinking about learning to crochet, perhaps this is the nudge you’ve been waiting for!
