I’m lucky to have received an early copy of The Cosy Commonplace by Miranda Mills, in advance of our event on Friday 11th September, at 4pm. I’ve spent this afternoon dipping into this gem and found delightful quotes, lists and ideas. It really is a literary joy. Still a few tickets left for our next Coffee and Crime event at Valentino’s with the fabulous Lesley McEvoy. Lesley’s books are set in Yorkshire and the main character is a psychological profiler with the Police. The books are gripping, twisty and fast paced (according to Simon) and Lesley is great! I have a pile of sun-damaged football books ⚽️which I need to rehome! If you come into the shop today and say to the person on the till ‘Ref, that was a foul!’ you can choose one of these books for free. While the pile lasts!

This is what we looked like when we opened the shop 17 years ago - Tuesday 7th July 2009! The Black Eyed Peas were number 1, Obama was president and Serena Williams beat Venus in the Wimbledon finals. Thank you Ripon for your wonderful, continued support. Life has changed, the World has changed and we are still here!
