Just a quick heads up.
After a couple of recent incidents, we’ll now be checking every note using a UV light. Please don’t take offence if we check yours.
Sometimes people don’t even realise they’ve been handed a fake (it actually happened to us when we used a customers note to pay for goods at a different shop!)

It’s nothing personal, just a precaution to protect the business and everyone involved. It is worth mentioning to other business owners in Ripon to check every note no matter how small to make sure you don’t fall for the trap we did!
