By offering organic feeds, we are promoting lower levels of pesticides, no manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers and more environmentally sustainable land management - helping to protect the natural environment.

By contrast, organic farming standards don't allow any synthetic pesticides and absolutely no herbicides, such as Glyposate. Organic farmers are permitted to use a small number of pesticides that are derived from natural ingredients, such as citronella and clove oil - but only under very restricted circumstances.

Instead organic farmers develop healthy fertile soil by growing and rotating a mixture of crops, adding organic matter such as compost or manure and using plants like clover and now more frequently, legumes such as sainfoin, to fix nitrogen from the atmosphere.
