Unfortunately we are already past the longest day, and now we progress to Christmas. Today I found a piece of Shodō I had done last year, but I have now updated it. This one says “ Aikido Ryu” so it is only applicable to either an Aikido dojo, or practitioner. This piece I am selling at a cost of only £10, which includes postage and packaging. Hi all.
Just thought I would make a post, unfortunately due to the recent death of my beloved father, I am not at my best. That said it has always been a family tradition that “life goes on” with that in mind Christmas is already around six months away. Therefore if you are thinking of a Shodō item as a nice gift for a friend or loved one, now would be a good time to get your orders in. Due to the fact that I only use items from Japan, like papers, brushes and ink there can be significant waits due to delivery times, hence why it is important to get your orders in asap, and I aim to turn them around as quickly as I can. In addition to the usual forms of Shodō. I can produce hand brushed Martial arts Certificates. Shown is an example A3, I did for the Nihon Jujutsu kobudo Renmei. Due to the costs of importing Genuine Phoenix boarder papers from Japan etc one of these certificates would cost £100. However if you have a requirement for several, please get in touch and see what we can work out. Please remember that because these are handcrafted items, reliant on Japanese Materials, turnaround time can take around 1 month. Part 2 of a recent commission, which will be sent out in the post on Friday 5th June 2026. This one is the first name, of the person concerned. I hope it servers as a great memory and fitting tribute, of the named individual. I know only too well, the effects of loosing a parent. I welcome your commissions however please be aware patience is required due to the fact that these pieces, whilst not only unique can require a great deal of input from outside sources. Japanese translation is often required and I only use genuine Japanese materials and ink. Delivery time from Japan, can dictate turnaround times for your items.

Father.

This is my Shodō for Father on Shikishi board. It is part of a commission for a customer as part of their remembrance of their late father. This will be one of two Pieces, I am doing for this customer and they will be dispatched on the 29th of this month. Whilst I am happy to accept various commissions, it must be remembered that they can take a lot of time to complete, for various reasons including but not limited to, my own personal life, Japanese translation and availability of Materials, as I only use Japanese items, which have to be shipped to the UK from Japan. A commission for a customer,, to remember her late father by. This is just one of two pieces I am doing for her. The other will be his first name.
