Happy World Chocolate Day! God certainly knew what he was doing when He created the cocoa bean! Thankful for chocolate and for the people around the world who cultivate, harvest and manufacture chocolate fairly! This morning we have the Romsey Local History Society visiting our 16th century building. There has been much inspecting, measuring, wondering and speculating about various aspects of the building, the bravest also ventured down into the old cellar!

History is so interesting (especially to the New Zealander writing this post - England has much more documented history than New Zealand!) Buildings change, years come and go (faster as we get older it seems!) but our God never changes! "Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God." Psalm 90:2

We have some great deals on brilliant kids and teens books in our current Kids Corner section. Definitely something for everybody! Come in and have a look for something to keep your kids entertained, informed and reading throughout the summer!

Hannah Dunnett is a very talented British artist who creates prints, mugs, journals, cards and much more with beautiful designs featuring scriptures and much loved hymns. We have re-stocked her products and have a great selection for you to come and pick out your favourite - if you can!

Due to the high temperatures, we've made the decision to remain closed on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th of June. We love being an 'oasis' in a parched land but feel it's important for the well-being of our staff, volunteers and customers. Stay cool and hydrated and look out for others over the next couple of days!

This beautiful copy of the Lord's Prayer was donated to Oasis this morning and we now have it displayed proudly in the shop. It's over two hundred years old but the words are still as meaningful to followers of Jesus all around the world as they were when he first taught us 2000 years ago!

Volunteers week!

We have many incredible volunteers here at Oasis. Some have been with us for just a few months (so far!), others have been here for several decades! Oasis couldn't survive without them and we are so grateful for the dedicated women and men who give up their time to come and help us maintain a Christian presence on the high street!

This week, as we celebrate volunteers nationally, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers, we love and appreciate you so much!
