The way lighting feels on installation day is rarely the full story.
What tends to matter more is how naturally it settles into the room once everyday life begins around it. How the light behaves in the morning compared to the evening. Whether the scale still feels comfortable once the furniture is in place and the space is properly lived in.
Those things are difficult to judge in the first few moments after everything is switched on.
Over time, the strongest schemes usually stop feeling newly installed altogether. The fittings become part of the architecture, the atmosphere feels instinctive rather than designed, and the lighting starts supporting the routines around it without drawing attention to itself.
That is often when a scheme proves it was right for the space.
