Lavender is traditionally used for its naturally calming and soothing qualities. Its essential oil contains naturally occurring compounds such as linalool, which have been studied for their relaxing properties and their interaction with the nervous system.

Rich in naturally occurring antioxidants, lavender also makes a wonderful addition to a nourishing body oil. When applied topically, lavender essential oil is traditionally valued for its soothing and skin-supportive properties, making this oil a lovely choice for dry, stressed or irritated-feeling skin.

Massage a few drops into clean, dry skin, paying particular attention to areas that feel dry or in need of extra nourishment. For a calming ritual, gently massage a small amount into the temples and breathe deeply.
