We’ve already got a few teams ready to battle it out, the questions are ready, and if our previous quiz nights are anything to go by… there will be questionable answers, unnecessary competitiveness and at least one person absolutely convinced they’re right when they’re not. 😂

If your Friday night currently consists of “we’ll probably just stay in” — change it.

Grab your cleverest friends (or the ones who'll at least make you laugh), get a team together and come spend Friday night with us. 🤎

Our wonderful local author D E Fox is releasing something incredibly personal this October.

Cancer Can Go And Do One!!

Her own cancer journey, in her own words.

And if you know her, you'll know exactly what to expect — honest, matter-of-fact, ridiculously funny in the moments you probably shouldn't be laughing, and with the same strength and humour she's carried throughout her journey.

This isn't about making cancer funny. Cancer isn't funny.

It's about one bloody brilliant woman being able to find humour in even the hardest moments and telling her story completely in her own way. 🩷

We’re incredibly proud that Pages & Peace will be part of her release on 17th October.

This one's going to be special. 🩷📚

Everyone’s chatting, drinks are flowing and our Bookish Creative crew are very much settled in for the evening. 🧵🎨☕📚

And that’s the beauty of Bookish Creative — you don’t all have to be doing the same thing.

Join in with that week’s activity, bring something you’re already working on, or sit and carry on with a project from a previous week.

No pressure to be good at it.

No awkwardness if you come on your own.

Just a table full of people switching off for a few hours, having a laugh and making something together. 🤎

This is exactly why we started these evenings.

Got an old jumper that could do with a little glow-up? 👀🧵

Tonight’s Bookish Creative is embroidery night and this one is ridiculously easy to join in with.

All you need to bring is something you fancy embroidering.

A jumper.
A pair of jeans.
A tote bag.
A denim jacket.
Whatever you’ve got lying around that could do with becoming a little more you. 🤎

We provide everything else.

And please don't think you need to be remotely crafty to come along. 😂 The whole point of our Bookish Creative evenings is to sit down, have a natter, make something and spend a few hours doing something other than staring at a screen.

We’ve already got a few of you joining us tonight, so if you’ve been thinking about coming along, you absolutely still can. 🧵📚

Come on your own if you fancy it — you won't be the odd one out.

Just remember to bring whatever you want to embroider!

Right… we’re taking “make yourself at home” VERY literally now. 😂☕

If you’re one of our regulars, you’ll know we genuinely don’t mind if you settle in for hours.

Read your book. Get comfy. Take over your favourite chair.

Some of you practically live here anyway. 👀😂

And then there’s Ken… who has apparently reached the stage where he’s bringing his own cushion. 🤣🤎

So we’ve decided to take it one step further…

BRING YOUR OWN MUG! ☕📚

We want our regulars to start bringing in their favourite mug to keep at Pages & Peace.

Your mug. Your little spot. Your home away from home. 🤎

Something that feels like you — your favourite bookish mug, the ridiculous one somebody bought you for Christmas, the ancient one you refuse to throw away… whatever you always reach for at home.

A couple of rules because we know what you lot are like 😂
☕ Sensible mug size please — no arriving with a Sports Direct swimming pool.
😂 Nothing obscene — behave yourselves.
🏡 And ideally this is for our regular visitors who'll actually get to use them!

We’ll keep them here ready for your next visit, and when you walk through the door you can have your drink in your mug.

Because apparently having your own favourite table wasn't enough.

Next thing we know you'll all be asking for a key. 😂🤎

If you need a reason to get out of the house today… this is it. 🤎

You don’t need plans.

You don’t need someone to come with you.

And you definitely don’t need to make a whole day of it.

Sometimes you just need to get dressed, leave the same four walls behind and sit somewhere different for an hour.

Order a coffee. Have some lunch. Browse the books. Bring the one you’re already reading.

Stay for twenty minutes or stay for a couple of hours.

Sometimes a change of scenery is enough. 📚☕

When did you last actually sit down and read your book? 📖

Not pick it up, read three pages and get distracted.

Not take it to bed and fall asleep with it on your face. 😂

Actually sit down, switch off and READ.

Because somehow there’s always something else that needs doing.

The washing. The cleaning. The kids. Work. Dinner. Your phone. That one job you’ve been putting off for three days…

And the book you were desperate to read just sits there.

Sometimes you have to physically take yourself away from all the things demanding your attention.

Bring your book to Pages & Peace.

Order something nice.

Find a corner.

And give yourself an hour where there is absolutely nothing else you should be doing. 🤎📚
