✨ Rothbury is getting ready to sparkle a little differently 🎄
It’s hard to believe it’s that time already! You may have spotted Team Sparkle out and about at the weekend, getting ready for our Switch-On event in just a few weeks.
This year, we’ve been thinking outside the box. Storm damage and fallen branches have made hanging lights in the trees increasingly challenging, with repairs needed almost every year.
So, with your donations and raffle ticket sales, we’ve invested in more resilient, energy-efficient lights and come up with a new solution!
Thanks to the ingenuity of our very own Sally Old and Gary Mason Electrical, and funding from Rothbury Parish Council, catenary cables have been installed between the trees. This allows us to thread the lights more securely, making installation easier and helping them weather the storms, while keeping Rothbury just as magical! ✨
Did you know? Our Christmas Lights Committee is made up of just 8 local volunteers who give their time each year to light up Rothbury.
It costs almost £2,000 just to cover insurance, licences and notices before we even begin! We rely on your support to make it all happen.
🎟️ Come and see us at the Maker’s Market this Saturday to buy raffle tickets, or make a donation.
