We would like to thank everyone who has been in today to help the lady with three children have a lovely Christmas x
We have been overwhelmed by all your kind offers and donations.
We have managed to get everything needed and have been absolutely blown away by the kindness and generosity you have all shown.
We honestly can’t thank everyone enough.
Such a beautiful thing we have all done, in all fairness i knew we would all come together to help this lady and her children.
A big massive thank you to you all!!

Today we have had a lady in our shop who brought us some lovely donations of children’s clothing.
Whilst there she asked if we had any more little girls toys. Having bought a few she asked if I thought they would be ok to wrap up for her 5 year old daughter. To which I replied yes.
We got into conversation and she told me how she had been trying hard to pay £20 a week for a 2nd hand tablet for her little 5 year old daughter
She has three children a little boy of 8
A little girl of 7 and a toddler.
She comes into new2you often and we have gotten to know her situation over the last few months.
I asked her if she was struggling this Christmas and she told me she was and that her son was desperate for a Nintendo switch and how disappointed he was going to be when he opened his presents….
She then had a good cry and told me how much she was struggling this Christmas.
I know this will resonate with a lot of people who struggle or have struggled in the past (myself included) and I also know how kind hearted maltby folk are as a community when one of us needs help.
It got me wondering if anybody else would like to offer anything to help this lady? A few pound towards a Christmas dinner? A box of something nice for the children to eat on Christmas Eve? This will be done very discreetly as I would hate to further dampen her pride.
She’s a single (through no fault of her own) working mum with three lovely polite well dressed children.
I will make a start by gifting her my little boys rarely used switch from last Christmas .

New2you donated to Maltby Craggs School in September for a school trip to Gullivers kingdom and this months donation was to the lovely ladies that make quilts for the hospice, women’s refuge, and the children’s wards at various hospitals.
As always we would again like to take the opportunity to thank everyone that donates to us so we can continue to support local groups and Schools, we would like to also thank all our lovelycustomers and volunteers who all make this possible.
All our donations contribute to Maltby causes.

Today went against so many of our morals….
We had a young boy who attends Maltby comprehensive.
He left his bike outside New2You yesterday chained to the railings.
This morning however he chose to chain it up at Tesco.
one of our volunteers who was walking on the manor field was approached by two people who offered a bike for sale at £20… gut instinct told her that this was the same bike, so she told the ‘2people’ to call in the shop with it …
As soon as a member of staff saw it they recognised it was the bike belonging to Daniel… she gave them the £20
She then off her own goodwill and kindness waited at Tesco for the young lad who she could see was heartbroken his bike had gone…
Long story short … Daniel has his bike back, but the two thief’s with no morals are still walking about maltby.
At least this story has a happy ending for Daniel and his bike.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank both staff and volunteers at new2you for doing the right thing
