There is a particular kind of tiredness that has nothing to do with sleep.
The day is over, but your mind hasn't received the message. The lamp is low, the window has gone deep blue, and still the inner static hums on.
Many of us didn't expect to recognise this in our 40s. The body settling into the sofa while the mind keeps sorting through tomorrow, last Tuesday, and a conversation from weeks ago.
The mind and body do not always wind down at the same pace. That gap isn't a personal failing. It is one of the quieter signatures of perimenopause, and it deserves to be met with softness rather than another item on the list. 🤍
Because rest, in this season, isn't something you earn. It is something you allow.
