PETITION: Make Carbon Monoxide Alarms Mandatory in All Holiday Accommodation
We are calling on the UK Government to introduce legislation requiring all holiday accommodation, including short-term lets, holiday rentals and Airbnb properties, to install and maintain working carbon monoxide alarms, alongside mandatory safety checks and proper enforcement.
Carbon monoxide is known as the silent killer.
It cannot be seen.
It cannot be smelt.
It cannot be tasted.
Yet it can take lives in a matter of hours.
Cherish and Ethan’s lives were taken far too soon in a tragedy that should never have happened.
They were not statistics.
They were two incredible young people with dreams, ambitions, families who adored them and futures full of promise.
Cherish was talented, determined and full of life. Ethan was hardworking, kind and loved by everyone who knew him. Together, they touched countless lives and left behind memories that will never fade.
The Cherish & Ethan Forever Foundation was created by Devon, Cherish’s mum, to ensure their legacy lives on and to fight for change in their names.

Cherish & Ethan’s Story
The Cherish & Ethan Forever Foundation was established in memory of two extraordinary young people whose lives were tragically cut short.
Cherish Adele Bean and Ethan Slater were much more than the circumstances of their passing. They were loved deeply by their families and friends, and they left a lasting impact on everyone who knew them.
Cherish was ambitious, talented and full of life. With a passion for hair and makeup, she spent countless hours building a future for herself doing what she loved. She had a natural ability to make people feel beautiful and confident, and her determination, warmth and vibrant personality inspired those around her.
Ethan was hardworking, caring and respected by everyone who crossed his path. Whether at work, with friends or spending time with family, he was known for his loyalty, kindness and willingness to help others. Children especially seemed drawn to him, a reflection of the gentle, genuine nature that made him so special.
Both Cherish and Ethan had bright futures ahead of them. They were young, full of dreams and possibilities, and loved beyond measure.
Their lives mattered.
Their memories matter.
And their story deserves to be remembered.
The Foundation
The Cherish & Ethan Forever Foundation was founded by Devon Bean, Cherish’s mum, in honour of both Cherish and Ethan.
Following the devastating loss of the two teenagers, Devon made a commitment that their names, their lives and their legacy would never be forgotten.
The foundation exists to celebrate who Cherish and Ethan were, preserve their memories, and use their story to create positive change.
At the heart of the foundation is a mission to raise awareness of carbon monoxide safety, support education and prevention, advocate for stronger protections, and help prevent other families from experiencing similar tragedy.
Every campaign, fundraiser, event and awareness initiative carried out by the foundation is driven by the belief that Cherish and Ethan’s lives can continue to make a difference.
Devon’s Aim
Devon’s aim is simple but powerful: to ensure that Cherish and Ethan are remembered not for how they died, but for how they lived.
Through the foundation, she hopes to shine a light on the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, support improvements in safety standards, and encourage meaningful change that could help save lives.
Most importantly, she wants to create a lasting legacy that reflects the love, kindness, ambition and potential that defined both Cherish and Ethan.
While nothing can undo the heartbreak of their loss, their story has the power to raise awareness, protect others and inspire change for generations to come.
Our Mission
First and foremost, the mission of The Cherish & Ethan Forever Foundation is to ensure that Cherish and Ethan are forever remembered for the incredible young people they were and to show the world just how deeply they are loved.

• Supporting education and public awareness initiatives
