Food for every mood ☀️

🍪 Little Village Bakery Let the smell of freshly baked goodness lead the way. The stall you'll probably smell before you see! Think artisan hand-rolled brioche doughnuts, soft cinnamon and cardamom buns, chunky cookies, savoury stuffed brioche buns, smoked cheese & potato sausage rolls and irresistible cheese twists.

🍕 The Outdoor gourmets Pizza perfection, straight from the wood-fired oven. Fancy a slice? Head over to The Outdoor Gourmets to experience the freshest Neapolitan-style pizza, cooked to perfection and topped with a delicious range of flavours. From a classic Margherita to a tasty prosciutto and ham, there’s something to satisfy every pizza craving.

🥘 A little bit of this... a little bit of that... delivering all the Indian vibes, we have Ghar Ka Khana back with us, bringing all of their homemade Indian delicacies, such as crispy bhajis, tasty samosas and pakoras. If you're in the cooking spirit and fancy taking those Indian flavours home, try out their cooking sauces, pickles and chutneys, perfect for adding a little something extra to your home-cooked meals.

If markets are your jam, then why not come down to our September market on the green for a Ruddy good day out? Let's meet three of the makers joining us this time.

First up is The Jam Lady with enough marmalade to keep even Paddington satisfied. If you're into your jams, curds, chutneys, marmalades, and syrups, then this is absolutely the stall for you! Miss out, and you'll be in a sticky situation!

Fancy a proper breakfast cob? Or a box of roast potatoes dripping in gravy? The fabulous team at The Grange Ruddington will be keeping us fuelled all day long with cobs and burgers galore. It's always worth turning up hungry to their truck!

Of course, feeling hungry at the market is the wurst, so you'll be pleased to know that The Grumpy German will be serving up proper German street food and cakes. Despite the name, these guys definitely aren't bitte!

It'll be easy to get your sugar hit from The Garden Bakehouse . Their freshly baked goodies include brownies, blondies, cookies, flapjacks and more. I call dibs on their epic cookies!🍪

FRANCE ON FILM

Ruddington Popup Cinema Club is back this October for a very special weekend, as we join the village in marking 40 YEARS of twinning with Grenay, France! And for this latest edition of RPCC, we'll have not one, not two, not three, but FOUR brilliant films to enjoy at The Cottage Hotel, each celebrating France in a different way:

🎬 Amélie (15)
📅 Friday 16th October, 7pm
A painfully shy Parisian waitress makes a surprising discovery and sets out to secretly bring happiness to the people around her... but will she find happiness for herself? Funny, romantic and wonderfully inventive, Amélie is a modern classic celebrating Paris and French life.

Set among the bustling streets and rooftops of Paris, Ratatouille follows Remy, a determined young rat who dreams of becoming a great chef. This funny, heartwarming Pixar favourite celebrates French food, Paris and the idea that anyone can cook... yes, even you!

*The 12pm showing is our relaxed screening, with gentle house lighting, lower sound and subtitles. Everyone is welcome to move around, come and go, or respond naturally to the film. Or if that's not your thing, book the regular 3.30pm slot for more Remy!

From the streets and cafés of Paris comes Charade, the stylish 1963 classic starring Hollywood legends Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Romance, comedy and suspense collide as a mysterious murder and missing fortune lead to twists, double-crosses and danger... the perfect Sunday-afternoon classic to round off our weekend.

Thanks to the continued support of Cinema For All, The Cottage Hotel and the Ruddington Village Community Partnership, and with special thanks to Ruddington Parish Council this time around as part of the village's 40th year of twinning, we're able to keep tickets at our lowest-ever price - just £5 plus booking fee!

The volunteer social media team get all the RVM scoops first, and this month there's a bit of chitter chatter on the WhatsApp group about these two jewellery stalls coming next month:

First, Jodie from Potterbyname, who's actually from Rudd. She makes jewellery using recycled silver and ceramic elements, so quite different.

And then we've got Design FIORE DI LOTO, who are are new to Rudd - they do really nice 925 sterling silver and genuine gemstone jewellery, all designed, handpicked and made by themselves.

So there's a couple of recommendations from the RVM social team there - worth looking up both stalls if you're there in September. Although obviously we take no responsibility for the nice things that you end up buying 😉

Looking for cool things to do in Septembrrrr? Come on down to the Ruddington village market!

Serving up Chinese dumplings and flipping excellent pancakes is Notty BaBa! If you love rich bowls and hand-stretched pancakes, then come and bao down to the legends who will be in their usual spot on our green this September. It's a really tasty lunch that'll have you coming back for more!

And back with style is Louise at The Style Studio! For those last-minute accessories, little gifts, and pretty things just because, Louise has just about everything you could need to keep feeling glamorous as you peruse the market!
