Turtle Medical

Turtle Medical An innovative manufacturer of defibrillator cabinets, bleed control cabinets and bleed control kits and supplier of medical equipment.

Turtle Medical was founded in 2011. It is a family-run business that designs, engineers and manufactures indoor and outdoor defibrillator cabinets to bespoke specifications. In 2020 it created the UK’s first bleed control cabinet and in 2023 the first solar and wind powered defib and bleed control cabinet. The company also supplies approved medical equipment and has numerous partnerships with char

ities, such as the Daniel Baird Foundation. Customers include UK-wide Police, Fire and Ambulance Services and local and parish councils, as well as railway stations and stadiums like St Pancras and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Molineux Stadium. Every element of a Turtle cabinet is manufactured in the UK and cabinets can be built to standard or bespoke specifications, meeting any branding or installation requirements and specifications linked to Listed Building status. Our defibrillator and bleed control cabinets are expertly engineered to keep the medical equipment secure and heat-regulated where required. All our cabinets are IP66 rated (fully waterproof and dustproof) and have the highest impact rating available (IK10); furthermore, we are the only company to hold this certification. Our cabinets can have remote monitoring systems added to them to allow custodians to check on the status of the cabinet at any time, giving them peace of mind about the status of the door, hook switch or temperature inside the cabinet. Registered company name: Turtle Engineering Ltd

🐢 We're at the Staffordshire County Show for the second day today. 💚🩸 It's been great to speak to so many people and teach them the basics of CPR and bleed control and with another scorcher, we hope to see more of the local community today ☀️ (and eat more of the delicious food that's on offer!)

🎗️ We support Knife Crime Awareness Week from The Ben Kinsella Trust, beginning today. 🔊 Learn more by listening to this morning’s BBC Northamptonshire radio breakfast show special featuring our Mike, Lynne McleodFinch-Baird Mbe from The Daniel Baird Foundation, Off the Streets NN CIC and Royal College of Paramedics talking about bleed control kits and Bleed Map. 🩸

🩸 Last week we shared a windlass tourniquet in action and here’s a reminder on how to apply a Fox Seal Chest Seal. With Knife Crime Awareness Week coming up, this component is one we really wanted to highlight as a lifesaver when it comes to chest cavity puncture wounds.

🚑 When designing these kits for untrained public use with The Daniel Baird Foundation - after Daniel Baird was fatally stabbed - Officialwmas knew that including chest seals would prevent deaths. 👩‍❤️‍👨 People are alive today thanks to the chest seals we put in kits and sent off to communities.

Isn’t that amazing? 💚

💨☀️ Suffield Parish Council required a solution, and we were delighted to help – it’s the first bespoke installation of both solar and wind technology on a bus shelter, to power a defibrillator cabinet. 🚌 It’s a lifesaving hub in the Norfolk village of Suffield Green, also with a The Daniel Baird Foundation bleed control kit.

🙏 Thank you to another forward-thinking council, embracing innovation and putting people first.

🐢When there’s no power, there’s no problem! 💚 When there’s no location for a freestanding unit, we’ll work it out!

Knife Crime Awareness Week led by The Ben Kinsella Trust starts on Monday 18 May. 🎤🔊 That morning Lynne McleodFinch-Baird Mbe from The Daniel Baird Foundation will be live on BBC Northamptonshire radio with presenter Annabel, who also came to the Turtle premises last week to see bleed kits and bleed control cabinets being put together.

🩸 Mike’s interview with Annabel, which also discusses Bleed Map, will also be aired on the breakfast show special. They’ll have other guests like charity Off the Streets NN CIC to talk about tackling knife crime in Northamptonshire, so it will be a great listen – tune in early from 7am.

🙌 We saw that Mini First Aid has added the treatment of life-threatening bleeds to all of its workplace first aid courses as standard – how amazing is this! Their branded kits arrived with them last week.

🩸 Here’s a reminder on how the Code Red windlass tourniquet from The Daniel Baird Foundation bleed kits is applied. When choosing your bleed kit, carefully look at the contents and choose what works for you and your community – we select this type of combat-ready tourniquet because you can get it straight on a limb without needing to tie a triangular bandage first 🚑 fast action is the goal.

Thanks for sharing Lynne McleodFinch-Baird Mbe

🩸 It’s hard to imagine a time before 999 callers were directed to any nearby public defibrillator in a cardiac arrest emergency. In a few years’ time, everyone could – should – be saying this about emergency bleed control kits.

🤝 We have produced The Daniel Baird Foundation kits for several years and we’re proud to have supported our customers in registering their kits on the new national bleed kit network, Bleed Map 💻📍

However, please go and check bleedmap.uk and follow the simple 5-minute registration process if you have a little lifesaving kit that’s not mapped.

🎗️ If you support this transformational change to bleeding injury emergency response, please share our post or the Bleed Map website has this and other images for you to share.

🏗️ We were honoured to write an in-depth CPD article for Construction Management Magazine magazine to coincide with today’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

Find the link below, and it’s not just for construction contractors. We think many industry and office teams will benefit from a little continued professional development when it comes to medical emergencies.

⛑️ Our MD Mike covers key legislation including the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 – or Martyn’s Law – and where to position defibrillators and bleed kits. Plus, planning for emergency response and building readiness through first aid training and familiarisation.

Our customers Winvic construction Limited, GRAHAM Group and GMI Construction all mentioned for their approach to emergency preparedness.

🙏 Join us in a thank you to High Wycombe BID My Wycombe and Buckinghamshire Council for rolling out more public access bleed control kits across High Wycombe town centre, including this dedicated bleed control cabinet kit installed alongside the existing defibrillator at All Saints Churchyard 🩸

💪 This initiative strengthens the town’s emergency response capability by ensuring life-saving equipment is available in those critical first minutes – one kit is inside the defib cabinet at Wycombe Arts Centre and others are in late-night venues, adding to two at Eden, High Wycombe.

They are registered on Bleed Map and ready to save a life. We hope they are never needed. 💚
