A Smeg isn't just a pretty fridge. Here's what the engineering actually delivers.
Everyone knows what a Smeg looks like. The curves, the chrome, the colours. But if you've ever assumed the design was the main event, it's worth taking a closer look at what's actually going on inside.
The inverter compressor adjusts its speed continuously rather than simply switching on and off — which means more stable temperatures, quieter operation, and better energy efficiency. The multi-flow cooling system regulates humidity and temperature independently in each compartment, so your salad drawer and your meat shelf are being treated very differently. And the dedicated deli drawer runs at a lower temperature specifically for fish, meat and dairy that needs to stay in peak condition.
Newer models also feature dual evaporators — separate cooling circuits for the fridge and freezer — which means no flavour transfer and no humidity crossover between the two.
It's a serious piece of engineering dressed in beautiful clothes. Which, if you think about it, is exactly what you'd want.
