KAMAVINDI, KENYA
BLACKBERRY, PLUM, TOFFEE
———————————
Kamavindi is a family-owned estate in the highlands of Embu County, sitting on the slopes of Mount Kenya. The farm has grown from a few hundred trees to around 10,000 today, with the family handling their own harvesting and processing.
For this natural lot, ripe cherries are sealed in polyethylene bags for 72 hours of controlled fermentation before being slowly dried on raised beds for around 28 days.
This gives the coffee loads of ripe fruit sweetness and body, with blackberry, plum and toffee coming through in the cup.
