Everyone calls this iconic spot “Wheal Coates,” but the actual building is Towanroath Shaft!
🗓️ Built: 1872 (Grade II listed!)
⚓ Depth: Plunges 600 feet deep well below sea level.
🪙 Purpose: Originally built as a pumping engine house to extract tin.

A rare atmospheric phenomenon of a fogbow/mist rainbow (or white rainbow) at Trevellas Coombe. A beautiful, glowing white arc formed in front of me, tiny reflective droplets inside the sea mist. Ethereal!
