Some beautiful Nakayama koppa from a private collection in Japan. I also ordered a couple of extra chisels while ordering for customers, a bachi Nomi by Ouchi and a lovely tataki by Takesho with shinogi blade. Another large set of used Nomi arrived in terrible condition as you can see from the photo of some of the unrestored ones I have added to the post! To be fair the ones I have restored (in the photos and now for sale on the website) have turned out better than I hoped. All they need is a new home and being put to use 💪🏻

It has been a while since my last post. I just wanted to reassure you all I'm still here working hard in the background to keep finding the tools you guys ask for. It has been a tough beginning of the year, with work, family, the loss of my beloved 4 legged Wilson, the passing of Funahiro san, and a few other unexpected curved balls. In the photos, a few of my latest restoration projects. Also a bit of info for those of you who love the Mitsukawa disposable saws. I have purchased the last few ryoba Mitsukawa San had. He will no longer be making this range of saws due to logistical reasons. So if any of you want to stock up, what I have listed on the website is the last I will have and they will be no longer available. I have 225 and 240mm ryoba and 240mm spare blades. When a blacksmith cares about finishing his tools as much as he does for the forging, great tools become pieces of art just as much as the items they will help to create! Keisaburo, in my opinion, forges some of the best looking kannas I have the honour of using, own and sell. His tools are hardly ever stocked by any shop, but anyone can order a very bespoke plane, made to your specs, a truly one off piece, unique to yourself. These tools are not mystical creatures of some sort, they are tools, tools made to be used, loved, cared for and enjoyed and yes you too can have one, wherever you live, as long as you have the budget for them just like any other tool! This one has a dai made by Koyoshiya with a steeper bed for very difficult grain. The steel used for the blade is Togo Reigou, one of the toughest carbon steel. I just love it❤️... don't you?
