Cinnamon Swirl was proud of his curl,
It perched expertly styled on top of his whirl,
‘How dapper he looks’ people would say,
Pointing him out from the rest on the tray.

Puffed up with pride, his curl at the fore,
He thought to himself ‘who could want more?’,
The pastries around him looked on in awe,
At a sight not seen in the bakery before.

But on one stormy morning as the sea started churning,
The swirl of his curl began slowly unfurling,
A gradual unpeeling began to take hold,
as the stupendous quiff gently unrolled.

Help! he exclaimed as panic set in,
His reflection shone back in a clean baking tin,
In a couple of minutes he was completely laid bare,
His cheeks turning red as all stopped to stare.

Hearing his cries Teddy Pasty hopped down,
Urging his friends to gather around,
‘Roll up, roll up’ he shouted out loud,
to the pastries and cakes and the gathering crowd.

Rolling him up, back into a swirl,
Teddy Pasty performed a magical twirl,
Cinnamon swirl was spinning with joy,
He was back to himself, yet a little more coy.

With a flick of his curl, which had not lost its bounce,
He returned to the tray, with a more modest flounce,
Thanking his friends, his relief was clear,
As he smiled at them warmly and held back a tear.
