A Siebe Gorman British Admiralty / Royal Navy 6 bolt standard divers helmet / hat. These are becoming pretty rare and sought after these days, this one came from a Royal Navy clearance diver and this is the hat he used on a daily basis. Just wondering if anybody has any info on this rare ships lantern / beacon ? It stands 70cm high so quite large in size and dated 1907 ( or this could be the model number ? ). I’m sure I have seen one similar before, maybe in a maritime museum ? This model must be pretty rare because I have only ever had one of these lanterns in over 35 years. I am looking forward to restoring this beauty, but it will require a large can of elbow grease 🤣💪 Plenty of info about the company online and it was oil burning but has been converted to electrical operation at some point.

Had a can of elbow grease that was going out of date and needed using up before it evaporated - so I completed this little project over the weekend💪………. A matching pair of Second World War era Royal Navy / British Admiralty copper Port and Starboard lanterns, made by Alderson & Gyde Ltd - one is date stamped 1943 and the other 1944. These lanterns are top quality as you would expect from Royal Navy spec👌. Had just enough elbow grease left to polish up this brass ship’s companionway lantern by Kelvin, Bottomley & Baird too 😎 These items are available at Gallery 1A - St.Ives and will soon be on my website Clipper Maritime Antiques 🤞

? HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT IS BENEATH THE WAVES IN ST.IVES BAY ? well watch 👀 this 😲 and you will find out 🤿 In order to keep the history of the 1854 S.S NILE disaster alive, I decided to make a mini documentary about the disaster 175 years after the fateful event. We finished it a year later, but hey ho ! Been a tad busy 😵‍💫 This was only possible with the expert help from Morag Robertson, Alban Roinard and Tony Mason. We hope you enjoy watching and learning
