This week I have been getting ready for the Catterline Gala. I have made this dragonfly to go in the raffle. Tomorrow, Saturday 15th from 1pm I will have some of my stained glass on display and for sale at the gala, provided I can get my new gazebo erected in the morning🤞🏻😊. The finished lantern and yesterday it was dark enough to switch on the led light I have fitted. The light is removable so that the lantern can be placed over a candle, or hung as a light shade. 😊

Last week I was in Orkney, catching up with friends and delivering some stained glass. While there, I found an old dressing table mirror on ebay and it arrived yesterday. I planned to take out the mirror and replace with stained glass. I was excited to find an old newspaper inside, with my name on it! It was the New Forrest Post from 10th August 1995. Maybe I should make a panel featuring New Forrest ponies. The mirror also had handmade wooden washers which turned out to be from a cotton reel. Its great to find old things that have clues to their story 😊

I have started to make the new panels for the old lantern frame. A couple of years ago I made a panel for this old clock case. I thought the design would look good in the lantern using lots of different colours and textures of glass. So far I have cut out glass for two sides. The rest will have to wait as we are now on holiday for a few days with our children and their families 🥳

Another ebay purchase! I have bought this vintage lantern to reuse the metal frame for my own design. The leaded panels were loose so I have dismantled them, cleaned the glass and am making a terrarium with them. I need a hinge before I solder it together so will let you know when it is complete 😊

Here is the completed lighthouse, showing each of it's four sides. It has a flashing light at the top and an led light at the base. Making the housing for the lights and battery box was quite a puzzle! 🤔
