🕸️ Fil’s Quick Tip #3 – STRINGING! 🖨️

Getting those annoying little wispy strings between parts of your print? Don’t worry — there are a few simple things to check!

🌡️ Temperature – printing too hot can make stringing worse.
⚙️ Retraction – check your retraction settings are right for your printer and filament.
💧 Filament – damp filament can also cause stringing, so make sure it’s nice and dry.

A few small changes can make a BIG difference to your finished prints!

The late nights have officially started!

Busy working away in the studio tonight, and believe it or not, the Christmas orders have already started coming in!

If you're thinking about having something bespoke or personalised made for Christmas this year, please don't leave it until the last minute.

Custom designs can take a little extra time, especially once things start getting really busy.

🏆 WE’VE BEEN SHORTLISTED!! 🏆

We’re absolutely delighted to share that Gift & Receive Shop has been shortlisted in the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2026!

We’ve been shortlisted for Service Beyond the Call of Duty, recognising the education side of what we do here at Gift & Receive.

Over the last year we’ve put a huge amount of work into our 3D printing lessons, workshops and children’s parties, helping people learn about 3D printing, design their own creations and actually see them come to life.

What started as simply running a 3D printing shop has turned into something much bigger — and seeing the educational side of the business recognised like this means a lot to us.

We’re up against some fantastic local businesses and organisations, so just being on that shortlist is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Fil’s Quick Tip #2!

Don’t walk away as soon as you press print!

Take a moment to watch that first layer go down. If it isn’t smooth or sticking properly, stop the print and sort the problem before wasting hours of filament.

A bad first layer rarely turns into a good print!

Watch it. Fix it. Then let it print!
