Wessex Medical Ltd, based in Old Sarum, Salisbury has been chosen by the NHS to supply up to 1000 Philips AED defibrillators for installation in vaccination centres in the UK.
Managing Director Alan Caulfield has been selling defibrillators for over 33 years and says this order demonstrates the commitment of the NHS in providing state-of-the-art lifesaving equipment to every area of our NHS.
A defibrillator is designed to help treat victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Once the heart stops you have a few minutes to act and the community relies both on the defibrillators being available and
someone that is willing to use it. You don’t need any training, the defibrillator will guide you through the operation. Defibrillation is the only form of treatment for most cardiac arrests and you can’t do any harm using it.
The HS1 from Philips Medical is easy to use and suitable for anyone to use even without training.
They are in use in Airports, Emergency Service Vehicles, Pubs, Hospitals, Ambulances, Private Homes, Shops, Offices, and industries.
