West Tytherley Store Extension Meeting Update
Thank you to the 60 people who attended the community meeting held at King Edward’s Hall on Monday 10th August.
The modest extension will offer an enhancement of our existing services to our community. It is designed to build a strong performance for our store and to protect the future of this valuable community asset
It will bring a new, small community space that does not currently exist in West Tytherley, where you can enjoy company, good coffee, other refreshments and snacks available in the shop. It will also offer additional shelving to improve the selection of products available for you to buy, with a focus on local businesses.
To have an effective exchange of views, questions and suggestions, the committee shared a full update on the extension proposal ensuring common understanding of what it is, the current status, the financial plan and the next steps.
There was no time limit to the meeting to ensure that all those present had full opportunity to share views, questions and make suggestions. There was good engagement from those present and the time allowed for a healthy debate amongst the attendees.
Councillor Stewart McDonald from Test Valley was in the audience and shared their support for this initiative which is based on a proven track record of similar projects improving the health of rural businesses when faced with similar challenges to our store.
The information shared can be found in the file section of the West Tytherley Village Square site . If you were unable to attend the meeting and have any questions, views or suggestions, please do email the committee via [email protected]. The committee have captured and will be reviewing the observations and suggestions at our next committee meeting.
