Maidenhead Aquatics at Wilton - Salisbury We are a freshwater specialist aquatic store on the outskirts of Salisbury with an extensive outdoor section for pond plants and fish.

Our store is located in a beautiful Blue Diamond Garden Centre in the historical town of Wilton. We are an established team of two with twenty plus years of experience between us. The welfare of our fish is our upmost priority and we pride ourselves on our fishkeeping knowledge and honest advice. We specialise in freshwater fishes with over 160 tanks brimming with aquatic life from lakes and river

s all over the world. We also boast an extensive aquatic plant and aquascaping section with a huge variety of wood and rocks. Outdoors we are blessed with a large area for pond plants during the Spring and Summer months and these are bordered by our range of Goldfish, Native Fishes and Koi.

There are two different species of filter feeding shrimp within this mass, both of which are completely peaceful and non-predatory.

The brown ones with the yellow stripe are Bamboo Shrimp 'Atyopsis moluccensis' and the blue/grey ones are Giant African Fan Shrimp 'Atya gabonensis.

These make an interesting addition to community aquariums. Just make sure that oxygenation/water movement is strong and that they are fed fine foods, such as cyclops.

We have had another pond plant delivery today and there are some absolutely cracking plants available, including very large examples of species like Cyperus and Pontederia.

As we approach August, there won't be many more deliveries this year, but the season is far from over; the recent heat has seen some amazing growth on plants already in stock, especially lilies.

Rare Cory Alert!

We currently have a very limited number of Bonita Cory 'Corydoras orcesi' available. This rarely seen species is another store first, imported from Peru.

This is one of the 'long-nosed' Cory species and must be kept on sand. This species does carry a high price tag and is one for the true Cory connoisseur.

These Spotted Garra 'Garra spilota' go absolutely crazy for sinking tablets. This fairly small growing species of Garra are good algae eaters and are considered peaceful.

Keep in an aquarium with high oxygen levels, which can be temperate or tropical as this species will tolerate temperatures from 16-28C.

And there's such a simple yet effective way to help nature thive... Put flowers in your garden!!! Plants and their pollinators are vital parts of any and all ecosystems! Every flower helps!

Flowers in water gardens are even better, you'll bring in dragon flies and damselflies and so much more! Possibly even hummingbirds if you lucky🦜

It amazes me that we haven't yet sold of any of these Colombian Marbled False Zebra Plecs 'Peckoltia lujani'.

This is a small species that only grows to 12cm, is fairly confident and relatively inexpensive. They make an interesting alternative to standard Bristlenose Ancistrus.
