Alan here, I’m not being funny but I’ve just come in for my shift and something’s seriously off.
First of all—where’s the Pick ‘n’ Mix?? Whole front section’s gone. That was basically half the job. What am I meant to do now, not weigh bags of cola bottles all day?
Also… who’s nicked the CD counter? That was a proper section. Now it’s all just… nothing? Or “streaming”?? Sounds made up.
AND ANOTHER THING — why are there no tills?? Just these weird self-checkout things with massive glowing screens. Had a go on one and it told me to “place item in bagging area” like it’s the manager.
Customers scanning their own shopping?? That’s my job. Are they getting paid for this or what?
I’ve asked three people where the staff room is and they all just looked at me like I’m the strange one.
If this is some sort of refurbishment, no one told me. I only popped out the back for five minutes in 2006 and now it’s apparently 2026??
Anyway if anyone from head office sees this, can you let me know what’s going on and where you’ve put the sweets.
