Cutting a curved crown from a naturally fallen Cedar of Lebanon limb has revealed some very interesting figure. Not sure if this will become a coffee table or a paddle board yet but something so it can be enjoyed.

Good to spend a Saturday morning in the school holidays pulling out oaks with my daughter. This oak pictured has been in a wet area for some time so before the rains come it has been moved out and others brought to roadside for collection.

Busy reclaiming old oak in the sawmill yard lately. Lots of forged pins and nails salvaged for re use. Heavy metal plate brackets and bars along with the lovely oak beams which we will sell as beams or re saw for many unique end uses. These are old lock gates. We dismantle and process lots of these and every piece is different and naturally worn and aged.

A customer returned this week having not been in touch for ten years. It was good to see how they used some of our reclaimed board salvaged from Vancouver Wharf sometime ago. We have saved a processed hundreds of tons of timber like this over the years which we are proud to have done. Every batch and even piece unique and naturally weathered.

Re-sawing some beautiful very wide Douglas fir flooring for cladding a kitchen island. Douglas is quite abrasive to cut, even harder when dry and wide and into very thin slices.

27 meter 6” thick poolside curved bench in solid redwood. Made from trees that have been a natural habitat in the woods at the Longleat estate for many years. The insects and birds had stripped the bark and sap wood from the trees and it is now time to save the heartwood and convert it into something special. marianboswallstudio Living Landscapes Reclaimed Design

A simple oak cube of impressive proportions makes an interesting destination within a beautiful garden to go to and enjoy a glass of wine or to admire as you pass through the area. There is something special about achieving a solid cubic meter. This from a naturally fallen oak allows the tree to live on in its second seed.
