I have been given permission by the newly weds to share some of their photos from their special day yesterday. I’m sure you’ll all agree with me, that they both looked amazing! 💜Congratulations again to Donna Shephard and Sam, our local landladies of The New Brunel Inn right here in the heart of Saltash town centre, on tying the knot. Thank you once again for choosing me as your florist.

A couple of weeks ago, there was a lady posting on the Plymouth socials asking for people to recommend a florist to help with arrangements for her Still born son Rexley’s funeral. My name was put forward several times, which I can’t thank you all enough for, as always it is very much appreciated. I contacted the lady, offered my services free of charge, and she gave me the details of what she’d like and when, along with measurements etc, as obvs has to be suitable. She decided on a small casket spray with sunflowers, and a heart wreath in blue hydrangea with gyp. These were collected yesterday, to make their way down to St Austell today. I can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through, and my thoughts are with you and your family today. I hope my gesture, went a very small way, to helping. 🌻🩵Cath x

Today I had the pleasure of creating the wedding flowers for a couple of well known ladies, here in saltash. Sam and Donna Shephard from The New Brunel Inn. Congratulations on trying the knot, and thank you for giving me the privilege of being a small part of your special day. What a stunning choice of a deep Cadburys purple shower bouquet and matching buttonholes. 💜

I had a wonderful evening, having been invited to be the guest demonstrator for the St Mellion branch of the Women’s Institute. They made me feel very welcome, what a lovely group of ladies. Thank you for asking me along to your meeting, and I hope you all learned a few things to help with your flowers in the future. Cath 🍒💐

I don’t usually get many issues with my flowers, but I just wanted to come on to say, that In usual temperatures, I would normally guarantee flowers to last 5days, (yes it can often be much longer), but that is largely down to how the recipient cares for them.

As I’m sure you can appreciate, with the extreme temperature we have been experiencing, the life expectancy of flowers will be severely reduced.

How can we try to improve this, well the answer is to follow the care instruction on the back of my card, which says to cut the stems on an angle and replace the water every few days and add the flower food supplied. But again, these instructions would ideally, need to be increased to daily, to prevent the widespread growth of bacteria in the water, that this heat will cause.

Obviously the placement of flowers, would also need to be considered, not to put them in direct sunlight, in a window, or near to a fruit bowl, as all of these, will speed up the process, of your flowers wilting and dying prematurely. Flowers that come supplied in a living vase gift box with an aqua bubble, will need to be taken out the following day, and given fresh water, and not left in the box. Yes they look lovely when in the presentation box, but that’s all it is, a presentation box, and isn’t the best conditions for you flowers to be left In.

I hope this helps some of you to be able to enjoy your flowers for a bit longer. As lovely as this weather is, it is obvs not ideal for the flowers. I appreciate your understanding, and hope you all enjoy the sun, whilst it lasts. Cath 💐
