This evening, I sat on our balcony in complete silence, doing a little bit of admin, looking up at the sky every now and then, and just taking it all in.
And I had one of those moments where I realised just how much I love where we live, how much I love the life we’ve created, and how incredibly fortunate I am.
Sometimes life gets busy and my mind gets busy with it. My mental health has always come in waves. There are times when I feel completely myself, and times when I feel a little more distant from that version of me. But if there’s one thing I know now, it’s that the waves always pass and I always find my way back.
Tonight felt like one of those moments.
Nothing particularly exciting was happening. There was no big occasion. Just me, our balcony, the evening sky and complete stillness.
But I don’t think I’ve ever felt peace quite like it.
It reminded me that so much of the life I once hoped for is now simply my everyday life. Our home, our surroundings, the little routines, the quiet evenings and most of all, getting to share it all with our daughter.
Watching her grow up in a place we love so much makes me appreciate it even more. The memories we’re creating here, the little moments that probably feel ordinary to her now but that I know I’ll look back on one day and wish I could relive.
Sometimes I’m so busy living it that I forget to stop and look around.
For a little while, I felt like I’d lost touch with myself, but lately I can feel that changing. I feel lighter, more present and more grateful for the simple things again.
Tonight, sitting there looking at the sky, thinking about our home, our family and this beautiful little life we’ve created, I realised I really do have everything I could ever need.
And somewhere along the way, I think I’m finding myself again too. 🤍
