It hasn't taken long for things to resume back to normal here at Scope Scarborough Shop

What a great first day back yesterday. It was certainly a delight to see lots of familiar and new faces again.

As lockdown restrictions begin to lift, and many of us are looking forward to seeing family and friends and getting back to activities we’ve missed over the last year. Please remember, for many people, the idea of returning to old routines, or doing things that we haven’t done for a while, can cause anxiety and stress.

If you haven’t been in social situations recently, it’s normal to feel a bit of social anxiety. It’s not surprising if socialising feels strange or more difficult when you haven’t been doing it, so remember we are always here to help.

We have also taken a range of adjustments to the way work is done here at Scope Scarborough Shop, to comply with government recommendations and to keep our Customers, Staff, and Volunteers safe.

Please, remember everyone is finding their own path and things might not always go to plan. It is important to be kind to yourself and to be kind to others as we all find our way.

We hope you're hanging on in there during this crazy time.

Time during a pandemic feels so different, doesn’t it? Our journey, as a country, through Coronavirus has been a very difficult one and continues to deliver us many tough challenges but, thanks to our collective effort which includes every one of you, we are stepping into the next phase as safely as possible and reopen our doors from 10am this morning.

However, a huge amount of positive work continues, to reassure our customers, staff and volunteers of the extensive measures we are taking to protect them.

∙ All donations will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours
∙ Social distancing will be in place and reduced numbers will be allowed in store. A maximum of 6 people at any one time then, we will work on a 1 out 1 in basis.
∙ We have enhanced all of our cleaning routines.
∙ Hand cleaning products will be provided upon entry. We kindly ask all of our visitors to sanitise their hands as they enter any of our stores.

As we’re certain you will understand the changes we have made in order to keep everyone safe, can only be achieved with your full cooperation. So we ask you all to follow the new measures in place.

In our community we have shown what we can do if we work together. Stick with the Team Scope spirit and help us recover safely by continuing to play your part to minimise the spread.
