So after almost 15 years of battling on doing LGB repairs with thousands of locomotive and various bits and pieces of software and product updates the central station was starting to look tired and grubby so this weekend it was time to give the poor old thing a complete makeover and once again make it look tidy.
So now already for the the next weeks long list of repairs and updates.

So this week the LGB Repair shop had the pleasure of one of what I think has to be the ultimate locomotive from the days of Wolfang and the Lehmann factory in the guise of the SNCF Mikado with its own unique smoke deflectors ,Sadly bought at Auction and because they had no way of testing it 🤔🙁 although it looked mint sadly it was not to be a runner .
Burnt out electronics, burnt out Smoker ,burnt out decoder,No traction tyres ( and had been run like that for some time) as there was lots of brass filings from the track around the gearbox .
Inside the gearbox someone had previously been in it and two screws had been sheared off .
So the task was to get it a runner and also fit a new massoth pulsed smoker with a turbo boost output then a complete rewire and I am pleased to say it is now a wonderful runner and will give many years more service.
