So Today in the LGB Workshop i had avery interesting day with and LGB L10 Locomotive on MFX which in itself is both a brilliant locomotive and a fab sounding loco .
So some three weeks ago i was asked to find out why the decoder failed to load onto a CS3 Central station which when i recieved it would not register at all except calling itself a Coach with a few functions Bizare.
So eventually i got all the sound functions back in the right order and on my newly refurbished central station 2 everything worked as should so the customer was asked to bring in his CS3 to see if it would work on that .
Unreal no Joy what so ever so after half a day of trying everything under the sun it was impossible to get it to work so the upshot of it was back on CS 2 no problem what could it be ?

So the upshot of it was there is a known Bug in CS3 that has been kept quite in the last update so having got this information the CS 3 was reset from the latest version 2.52 back to and earlier version
of 2,4 and Bingo all is well Loco picked up perfect .

So once again lack of info from the manufactures and i eventually got it all sorted so if any of you out there with CS3 and are getting any problems revert back through the restore menu to 2.4 and all your problems of iffy running and Loco entering will be gone.

So after almost 15 years of battling on doing LGB repairs with thousands of locomotive and various bits and pieces of software and product updates the central station was starting to look tired and grubby so this weekend it was time to give the poor old thing a complete makeover and once again make it look tidy.
So now already for the the next weeks long list of repairs and updates.

So this week the LGB Repair shop had the pleasure of one of what I think has to be the ultimate locomotive from the days of Wolfang and the Lehmann factory in the guise of the SNCF Mikado with its own unique smoke deflectors ,Sadly bought at Auction and because they had no way of testing it 🤔🙁 although it looked mint sadly it was not to be a runner .
Burnt out electronics, burnt out Smoker ,burnt out decoder,No traction tyres ( and had been run like that for some time) as there was lots of brass filings from the track around the gearbox .
Inside the gearbox someone had previously been in it and two screws had been sheared off .
So the task was to get it a runner and also fit a new massoth pulsed smoker with a turbo boost output then a complete rewire and I am pleased to say it is now a wonderful runner and will give many years more service.
