While I was busy posting a recap all about The Stitching Fair, I was also busy at the shop restocking everything!

We are a hidden gem! 💎

It can be a bit tricky to find us but we're not far from the town centre 😊

Starting at the train station, head towards The Stephen Joseph Theatre. Keep going forwards, past the police station and Aldi, keep going until you get to Aston Pharmacy and the shops there. Turn left, and we are opposite Beyond Housing.

You can also find us on Google maps, and there is plenty of on street parking around us.

🎵 I love going to concerts, this year I have seen Jason Derulo, My Chemical Romance, Bruno Mars Anastasia, Scissor Sisters and The Streets

🧶 I love knitting, crochet, hand embroidery and cross stitch, I always have one of each on the go - but I never finish anything! 😅

🪡 I love trying new crafts, this year I have tried peg loom weaving, nalbinding, watercolour painting, sashiko, and free motion embroidery.

👶 I worked in childcare before moving into the world of crafts, it was a lockdown hobby that got carried away 😅

🌳 I love going for a walk, being out in nature or by the sea, you'll see this reflected a lot in the photos I take for my hand embroidery kits

💙 I have a lovely little craft shop in Scarborough, we opened in March 2025 and I've made some wonderful stitchy friends

Have you ever looked at my stitched photographs and thought "I wouldn't be able to do that!" 💙🪡

I've had plenty of complete beginners pick up hand embroidery and really enjoy it! Sometimes it's more about the process than the finished item, and you might just surprise yourself!

Now, I know you never do just one craft! So for the North Yorkshire Yarn Trail, I wanted to share what I know best. If you've ever fancied giving hand embroidery a go, I'll be running a workshop using my deckchairs on Scarborough beach photo. It's a great starter kit for beginners!

I'll show you how to get started and share my tips and tricks. We won't finish the piece during the session, hand embroidery is a slow skill, but you'll leave with everything you need to carry on at home in your own time.

(Please note, everyone is welcome, not just those taking part in the North Yorkshire Yarn Trail 😊)

🧶✨️ The North Yorkshire Yarn Trail starts this Saturday! ✨️🧶

Unfortunately I will be closed on Saturday as I'll be in Malton at Bramble Berry Markets, BUT I will be opening on Sunday instead!

The North Yorkshire Yarn Trail is a 2 week celebration of yarn, giving you the chance to explore some of the lovely independent yarn shops across North Yorkshire and it leads up to Yarndale!

There's 14 shops taking part, including The Stitching Lady for the first time! 😄 it's the trails 5th year and it runs from Saturday 12th September until Sunday 27th September - check the opening hours for each shop before you set off!

Pop in, pick up a free trail map and passport and collect stamps on your passport as you visit each shop (no purchase necessary)

We'll have some Scarborough themed projects to join in with and stitchy supplies only available in Scarborough! 💙🪡🧶

Spot the difference 💙🪡

If you've visited Whitby you'll probably recognise this spot straight away, but something is missing!

The famous whale bone arch has been removed, with a bronze replica due to take it's place.

I took my little stitched version along to it's old home 💙

It was a strange sight without them, I found myself looking for the famous landmark! And how empty the place was, the photo with the arch in September 2024, took a while of waiting as people got a photo themselves under the arch, the recent photo without the arch I managed in one go! The original photo that I used to make the pattern was taken in February 2023! 🎃
