Inspired by colour, family life & beautiful lettering I offer a range of personalised prints, stationery and wall art. All Onneke items are created with much love and care in the studio and make beautiful and very personal gifts. Please

✨ I have some big news to share, and I’ve written a newsletter all about it. If you’re a subscriber, it should be in your inbox now. You can also find it via the link onnekestudio.substack.com.

In short: I’ll be closing the Onneke shop at 37 High Street in Seaford.
It’s a big change - and not an easy decision - but I’ve always believed that if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.

My studio has been growing beautifully over the last few years, and now it’s time to give it the space and focus it deserves.

The shop will remain open as usual until Friday, 6th June, then we’ll close for a short break and reopen on Tuesday, 17th June for the sale of all sales!

I hope you’ll pop in to help us clear the shelves (with a smile 😊).

Thank you for every visit, every kind word, and every card you’ve sent over the last eight years.

Another trip to London with such a different vibe. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to go, as the last week has been busy, but I am so glad that I did. This day blew my mind. It was beautiful, inspirational, fun and unexpectedly very emotional. There is no one like , queen of small creative businesses, and I felt immensely proud to be part of her marketplace and this community. Thank you so much for today Holly and the amazing people from .co ❤️ and to , who read some of her beautiful poems that were so poignant 💕

It’s not about the winning really, it’s about the flowers in the park 🌸☀️ We went to the .giftoftheyear.awards, did not leave with an award but we had a lovely night with some amazing people at our table ( go give them a follow, I want to visit this place!) and got to hang out with my love too. Being a finalist gave my logbooks some amazing exposure and so many new stockists too and I am so grateful for that… Thank you for all your lovely messages ❤️🥰

Tomorrow is the day!!! We will be heading to London tomorrow (Thursday!) for the Gift Awards 2025. It’s been a whirlwind ride for the logbooks since they got shortlisted in January and made it into the final in February. Best of luck to all the finalists and good luck to me walking in heels for the first time since 2016 🙈👠💃 .giftoftheyear.awards

I am not always in the shop but I do work every day (including the weekends) and self care is vital to keep myself sane. Especially this week which has been CRAZY busy with wholesale orders (I am beyond grateful 🙏) So I stuck to my Friday Wellbeing Morning and it makes all the difference. That and having Sophie holding the ford in the shop and packing up orders. I am also beyond grateful for that. I will be in the shop all day tomorrow so do pop in. It’s going to be a big week for me next week with the Gift of the Year Award on Thursday night in London. Getting a little bit nervous and practising my poker face for the moment the winner in my category gets announced 😬 Keep your fingers crossed for my logbooks 🤞🥰

I have started working on a new card collection and rather than presenting the full collection, I will share my progress as I go along. I came up with the idea for this collection when I was waiting for a traffic light and I saw an old greenhouse in a garden. It looked so peaceful and inviting and I thought it would be lovely to work on a collection of illustrations inspired by small shelters in nature, the peaceful places we go to rest, reflect and recover. A beach hut, a caravan, a camper, a bothy, a tent, a shepherds hut, a yurt, and so on. I decided to call the collection Sanctuary and The Greenhouse had to be the first card because seeing a glimpse of that greenhouse made me think of the whole idea. I filled it with tomato plants and a rocking chair to have a little rest. Follow along to watch the whole collection come together ❤️🥰🌸

Creativity is a practice and part of the practice is to give yourself time to think. I love my daily walks with the dogs and I also value my alone time because that’s when my creativity sparks. I saw something today when I was out on my own that delighted me and I thought of a whole new greeting card collection in the ten minutes after. I could see the whole thing, all the illustrations and all the titles and how it would all tie together. I was buzzing afterwards for about an hour and now I just want to start drawing… I will share some more about this new idea soon. The picture of the beach huts is unrelated, but walking past it made me think of the summer when I had a little beach shop in the pink hut. One of the hardest summers of my life because my mum was in hospice at the same time but so many lovely memories of that time too 💕🌸💖 Pop into the Seaford shop tomorrow if you are local, it’s going to be a sunny day ☀️ (I hope 😁)

Didn’t that bit of rain make everything so beautiful and green 💚 The Walking logbook is for people like me who love to go outside, or as we say in Dutch: De paden op, de lanen in. Onto the paths, into the lanes. My dog walk today was to the coastguard cottages because you can never get bored of that spectacular view with the Seven Sisters cliffs. It always takes my breath away, even on a cloudy day. When we talked about how lucky we are to have this landscape on our doorstep, my daughter said: it’s a bit like living next to the Eifel tower 😍 The walking logbook is a little notebook with prompts to fill in and space for notes too. Because we can take photos of all the things but there is a real joy in noting down little memories and reading them back later down the line. Give it a try or send a logbook to someone you love who loves walking too 🥰 The logbooks are in the final for the Gift of the Year Award 2025 in the cards, wrap and stationery category. The award ceremony is three weeks today 🤞
